Hello everyone! I know journal entries are rare these days, but I have had a lot of things going on in my life and I would like to share it all with you guys!
First off, I just started my CNA clinical at Meadowbrook Manor in Bolingbrook. I am taking care of residents with stage 2 and 3 Alzheimer's and dementia. At first, it was a bit of a culture shock, but now I am finding myself falling in love with these residents. Although my job is a bit challenging and rather daunting, I now know that I was born to take care of these people.
Besides taking care of the residents at Meadowbrook and still working part time at Arby's, I have been taking care of my mother. Thank you for all of you who have been praying for her. If you do not know, she had gastric bypass surgery done in June 2012 to cure her type 2 diabetes. It did cure her diabetes, but she has had multiple complications from the surgery. Ulcers, strictures, diverticulitis, malabsorption problems...the list goes on and on. She is now on a pick line and is receiving TCP to help her get her nutrition, because she can't eat without getting sick. Home health comes out a few times a week to help us out with her IV and check her vitals. So it has been pretty crazy at my house lately, which is one of the main reasons that I haven't been extremely active on Gaia.
But on the plus side, I have found love again! I met Dustin (Spectre2420) on Gaia back in May 2012, when he joined Barton Town Court of Justice. We became very close friends in the past few months. We decided to make our friendship a little more personal when we added each other on Facebook. We Skyped shortly after. He had me at "Bucks 24 rescue!" I can honestly say that I have not been this happy in a long time and am proud to say that I met the love of my life on Gaia. We plan on officially meeting sometime in the following months and I can't wait!
