..Quietly, in the dark, I await again,
Waiting, anticipating, what is to come.
I stand in adornment in dark array,
You see, I am the opposite of the day.

I wait in silence, but no...I'm not shy,
I'm with my friends, the moon and the sky.
I am bold and faithful, I will always be there,
To clothe the skies with much tender care.

But now it is time to say our good-byes,
as you see the light come up in the sky,
that is the day with his friend the sun,
I am only a shadow of a day to come.
