KYAKING yesterday i went kyaking down a river. i was in a 13 foot boat going down the biggest rapid this huge 5 and a half foot wave knocked my boat upsidown. i pull out of the straps and swim for the surface to take a breath of air only to be bombarded with rocks bashing my legs i push my head up and hit it against the boat upsidown kyak i despeately swim to the side of the boat and take a breath of air. the rapid lasts another 30 yards and i am in a bad situation. i franticly grasp onto the boat hanging on hard as the rocks thrash at my legs. i pull myself up* onto the flipped boat and quickly grab my paddle and am thrown forward by the quick water. i am stuck by a rock and am ontop of a rock unable to move, water pouring over me, as i situate myself on the stationary craft i dip my paddle into the rushing water( in an attemp to paddle off the rock) and immetiately am pulled forward. again i lunge my paddle iinto the water and use all my strength to break free and get to calmer water. the water pouring over my upsidown boat increaces and i am almost thrown right back onto the violent water. i move forward and repositon myself to swich the location of my weight. it works the boat is off the rock and heading for brush and more waves. the branches hit me directly in the face, i paddle as hard as i can*#2 and after much effort i am out of the rapid and paddleing for shore i finally made it. i park my kyak and then go " yeaaaaaa" it was all crazy fun and i loved it!!
*have you ever dont a pull up? yea pretty hard right well try pulling yourself up a kyak after you have done 8 miles paddling in a kyak with water sucking at your legs and pulling you down
*#2when you are paddling on an upsidown kyak it is about 4 times harder and you get no where but overall it's fun
