In a harbor lost to time
For a ship that sunk long ago
Singing a melody that no one else knows
Tasting the salt on my tounge
The hair clinging to my face
Storm after storm
Wind after wind
Sun after sun
Moon after moon
Day after day
Singing alone
In a tone that never strays
Breath after breath
I gaze across the ocean
Watching and waiting
For a friend I once loved
For someone lost to the tide
For an expectation to be met
And for myself to one day
Be pulled away
But for now I sing a melody uknown
