Alright, now that I'm back into the groove and such...
Yep, went skiing last weekend up around Quebec city. That was fun. I tell ya. Nothing like trying to ski on mashed potatoes in pissing rain. Oh, and the blizzard. That too. gonk Visibility was the pits, temperature ranged from "Christ that's cold" to "Must strip, I'm sweating like a pig," and the snow was crap to ski on. Actually, if you didn't know what you were doing, the snow conditions made it downright dangerous to be out on the hill. I'm surprised no one managed to kill themselves. sweatdrop It wasn't a terrible weekend - I'd have been fine if the snow had been in better condition. It was a nice trip down to Quebec anyway, and it pretty much paid for itself with the bus alone. All in all, sucky weather but I still had fun. xp
So I'm back at work. Gaia's being all fruitloops again. Big shock. Stupid busses this morning were also being crackinated. stressed Damned OC Transpo. It's a good thing GO Transit is on time because between OC Transpo and Via Rail, I'd never get anywhere if they weren't.
Well, back to the lab stuff. Woo!

Well! Things are certainly looking up.
After a number of false-starts with Darken it seems he's finally getting his head back together, if only a little. He's getting his self-confidence back in small increments and he's starting to believe me again when I tell him that he makes me happy. *nods* Because of all that, he's able to pick up on the small cues from me like he used to. It's nice. I suspect he wasn't able to for a while because he was having trouble reading himself. Heh. I'm not the easiest person to read at times anyway.
So I spent last weekend up in Hamilton visiting with Darken. I also got to see the other Alliance members, which was nice. It was a lot of running around, but there was plenty of time to relax as well. I was so pampered over the course of the weekend. It was wonderful. With Darken and I on the same wavelength again, there was less tension between us and we were able to fully enjoy one-another's company as well.
Thursday night I got in and we curled up for a little while before crashing out. After 6 hours of travelling, I'm usually a little bushed. It's wonderful to come down off a bus and see Darken standing there. Yep. Makes it a little better.
Friday was spent relaxing for a while. Darken was feeling a little cooped up so we went on a bit of a wander. We swung past the pharmacy for some snacks and picked up some Advil for me as well, and then we kept walking randomly. We found this reptile place that looked really neat. I wonder how much maintenance a pet snake requires... On the way back, we went into Tim Horton's for some more goodies and then as we were leaving, accosted Tormented and Fallen in the street. Back to Darken's place where we chilled before being overrun with people.
Saturday was more relaxing in the early day. That evening was spent with his family, doing the Easter thing. Traditional, home-made Japanese fare. I got to see his sister and the kids and enjoy the company for a while. Eventually we headed home, Darken ran me a bath and then we curled up for a while.
Sunday was more of the same. I mooshed around in my PJs for most of the day. Eventually we headed out for dinner at Akita's. More Japanese food. Mmm.. gods, I love sushi to death. *grins* So gooood! I didn't even gorge myself sick this time. So there. Once again, people swooped in on us. I relearned to play a*****e, which wasn't as bad as I was expecting it to be (Twan really does make me nervous sometimes. razz ), and it was nice that Logic was helping me out a bit. All in all, I didn't do too bad. Finished off as a*****e though. >.<
Monday we headed out early to Burlington so that we could both be chiropracted back into shape. That done, we headed out for lunch with Pocca. Afterwards, we just chilled at his place before I had to leave to head back home. It was a nice long weekend, though. I spent a lot of time laughing and rediscovering Darken's little quirks.

Yesterday.. was a total wash. I just want to scream and forget it happened.
scream Done.
Alright. Today's.. a bit better. Despite busses running over a half-hour late and me spilling stuff all over the bench (just water, it's okay), today is still better. Yep. 3nodding
Tonight I'm gonna swing by the Billings Bridge mall and grab stuff-ish-ness from the grocery store. Possibly take a look around the mall, since I haven't really been there before. After that... I had considered taking a few minutes on the skating rink in the park by my place. *shrugs* Meh. I need some time alone before I hit someone.

So, I saw Great Big Sea last night in concert. It was amazing! The crowd was large, but not unreasonably so. I was probably 10 metres from the band, too. Sitting in the seventh row on the floor. It rocked! Right at the beginning of the set, some chicks through their bras onto the stage and Alan's eyes bugged and he laughed right in the middle of his singing. eek
Later on when they did Patty Murphy they picked up the bras and started passing them around, snickering. xd Quite worth it. I've decided I really need to get their new CD, though. They did a lot of the classics I've always loved and some new stuff which I didn't know that well, but grooved to anyway. Mucho fun!
And since they don't have a tour stop today they came out for two encores, which rocked. They looked kinda blown away that a crowd that size could make so much noise. Hee. So yesh. Much fun.

It's not that I don't care about what goes on in the States. I do. It's just that there's more news here in Canada about the American elections than there was about our own. In addition to that, the elections supercede any Canadian news in all of our media, and frankly... it bothers me.
Urg. So.. tired. I shouldn't even be at school until 12:30 today, and yet I've been here since 8am. Stupid project. I think I ******** up, too. Oh well, won't know until I run the gel of my PCR reaction results. Here's hoping the anneal was fine. Wish I had some music.
Spent the weekend with Darken, which was nice. Unfortunately, he tried to asplode his stomach on Saturday night at the Hallowe'en kegger we went to. Heh. I really wish I didn't have to work weekends with him around. It's.. kind of crappy to only get a few hours with him when he comes down.
Had free dinner last night. Ordered Swiss Chalet with the $10 credit they owed to me. Hee. It was tres tasty. Spent so much yesterday. Got some pictures developped and grabbed a few Christmas gifts. Oi. I'm so broke this year.
