Their voices hum around you,
You know you won't escape
You know to fight is futile
You know it's far too late
You hear the church bells ringing
It's midnight where you are
You know that things are lurking
In the darkness and afar,
You see something start moving
You hope that it's not real
You see the shadows flicker
You hope you aren't it's meal
You hope that you are fearless
And you know that you are not
You wish that you were safe
And you know that you are not
You wish you could escape
And you know that you cannot

So in the end the darkness wins
As it always does
There will never be a victor
So hope for something light
Because if the darkness wins
Then who will stand to fight?
