Here's volume two of Kacchin's Anime Reviews, today we'll be reviewing Hayate no Gotoku, episode 21, and Mushiuta, episode 7.
Hayate no Gotoku! has a habit of overfilling, they've been in a giant string of fillers without any real hint to a plot, and while the comedy is there, the story has so much more potential than that. This episode managed to put some names behind more of the figures in the OP, but at this late in the game, I think it's too little, too late. I'm really curious as to how this is going to end, but I'm not going to hold my breathe.
Now if you want a good plot, you go with Mushiuta. This episode threw even more details at you and hinted at the real motives of some of the other characters, as well as doing plenty of development. Kakko is still unaware that Shiika is with Lady, and I'm curious as to how he's going to react upon finding that out, especially since both Shiika and Lady like Kakko, or Daisuke as they know him.
But towards the end of the episode, it was revealed that Lady's friend with the Mushi obsession is now a Mushitsukai, and is in danger, so this sets the stage for some good old Mushi action in the next few episodes.
Next time, we'll have a full School Days edition! Look forward to it!

Fourteenth, Mushi-uta 6, Seto no Hanayome 20, Lucky Star 20 |

Today I'll be launching a new line of journal entries known as Kacchin (Kage-chan, shortened)'s anime reviews, where I'll review new episodes, as they come out.
Starting off, is Mushi-uta Episode 6.
For those that don't know, Mushi-uta is a new series starring Daisuke, aka Kakko, who's an agent for the ESBP, which is an organization that uses Mushitsukai (Mushi users), to hunt down other Mushitsukai (Mushi users). Mushi are small bug like organisms that in return for your dreams, imbue the user with extraordinary power, In addition to hunting down Mushitsukai, Kakko must also find the famous girl known as Fuyuhotaru, who was the only person to ever come back after having her mushi killed, which normally leaves the Mushitsukai in a comatose state.
Episode 6 starts off by introducing some new characters, people sent straight from the ESPB's HQ to capture Fuyuhotaru, apparently they have a grudge against Kakko, and they aren't afraid to commit to a little friendly fire to reach their objectives. The thing about Mushi-uta that I like is that not only are the characters pleasant to look at (Broccoli played a huge part in Mushi-uta, so you can expect character designs resembling a mixture of Aquarian Age and Di Gi Charat.) but they also feed you alot of information in a short amount of time, which keeps you on the ball and makes a bunch of questions and anticipation that hopefully will be addressed later. Mushi-uta does a good job at it's genre, which is a light hearted school drama, overlacing a serious and dark science fiction tale, really worth looking at.
Next is Seto no Hanayome, Episode 20.
We're close to the end here in Seto no Hanayome, and while I'm usually not too entertained by filler episodes, Seto has something about it's filler that makes you forget it's just there to waste time. The episode centers around the older cast, namely Luna and Sun's fathers, however Masa and Fujishiro have their moments too. Luna's father, saddened that he's become so distant from his daughter, does research on girls, he enters into a search engine Gaaru, written in katakana, which translates to Girl, but what he finds is something all otaku know, Gal-Games. (Gaaruge) Now, if you've never played a Gal-Game, they consist typically of high school, sometimes Junior High School, romantic drama. It's one of the most common type of visual novel, so there is literally thousands of them. But anyway, seeing the gal-game as a guide to understanding high school girls, Luna's father chooses to play the role of one of the girls from the gal-game, and hilarity ensues when he invades Luna's school dressed in a sailor girl uniform, and speaks in a masterly voice-acted high pitch tone. Upon explaining himself to Gozaburou, Sun's father, Go-chan follows his lead, adopting the stereotypical cat-girl uniform, while Masa becomes the typical little sister, going as far as to call Nagasumi "Onii-chan." Sun and Luna eventually talk, or rather, scream, the idea out of their heads, but not before Gozaburou gives his neko-mimi to Sun as a gift. To which we fans are given a extremely moe display of Sun's inner cosplayer, to which she is actually quite shy about. (Doesn't stop Nagasumi from looking in on her though)
If you have a sense of humor, this episode tickled it, if you're an otaku, even more so, and if you're like me, an h-game otaku with at least 100 gal-games under your belt, it caused you to hyperventilate. But something that concerns me with Seto no Hanayome is that it's episode 20, assuming it's a 24 episode series, they have to get serious or the ending is going to be very lame. (Unless they go for a second season in which I'm all for it) The next episode preview didn't seem to address that, but I guess anythings possible.
Now for the good stuff, Lucky Star 20.
Right off the bat, Lucky Star does what it does best and does it in spades, the everyday chat during Natsuyasumi (Summer break) is exactly what I wanted to hear since here in California it's also very hot. We got almost a full cast this time around, and while we missed any big scenes with my favorite character (Nanako) we were treated to all the main girls in yukata, which is also a treat. Some more Minori Chihara goodness was available with Iwasaki-san's performance, and during the segment of Lucky Channel, instead of Minoru Shiraishi who is always a top performance, we were surprised with Daisuke Ono, another veteran voice actor. I myself laughed especially when we were able to hear Akira say "Picco" which is a call back to Air's lovable dog Potato, whom she did the voice for. (Not to mention Akira can be quoted as saying "You're not a crow today." To Daisuke, who played Kunisaki Yukito in Air, whom later on became the crow Sora)
Lucky Star is one of those series that comes along once a millenia. It's on the charts with Haruhi and Evangelion as one of the most memorable anime of all time, and like Haruhi, it's fueled a fandom that otaku will remember for many seasons to come. It's inside jokes are funny even to those who don't get them, and to those that do, they're just even funnier. I'm really looking forward to how this series is going to end.
There you have it, volume 1 of Kacchin's Anime Reviews.
Look forward to the next issue! ~Kageryu

You know what really grinds my gears, children. I recently had to be host to my step-cousin, he's eight or so, and the entire time I wanted to kill him, almost coming close to it when he wanted to see my swords, in the back of my mind I was thinking "I'll give you a close up look if you even think about touching my blades." But yes, kids in general just make me feel so hateful inside. Makes me want to get a gun and go on a rampage, although I wouldn't think of doing that, because I'd be damned if I gave up my life because of some snot nosed punks. Grrr...
And that is what really grinds my gears.

Well, in a random stroke of inspiration, I caught up somewhat in the latest Gaia trends, houses, cars, etc. These things were all just dreams back when I first joined in 2002. My avatar looks sexy now doesn't he? What with the many swords and all, I like it.
Lesse, things have been strange, graduated high school, went to college, I'm on life's doorstep and they aren't answering the damn door, so I've become quite the hikikomori.
As for my otakunism, I'm not a devout hentai otaku, but also quite the Haruhiist and PVC collector, a huge Type-Moon fan, all that good stuff.
Will try to update again sometime @_@

...Well, it's 2007 now. Um...how are you? I haven't logged on in another century so I doubt this will ever hit the airwaves, but things have been good. I don't remember what kind of mindset I was in the last time I posted, probably in wonder at how my account hasn't been deleted yet (Member since 2002, woo!) but I guess that means it's been that long since a complete server crash, haha. IT'S ONLY A MATTER OF TIME FOLKS! Or maybe not, Gaia could never have a server crash, or it could happen tomorrow, it only takes one magnet.
Enough with the terrorist propaganda though, really, I've been good. Things have...hm, they've just changed, that's it really. I'll make another attempt at keeping this updated, but don't hold your breath, haha.
Until then, ~Kageryu

Ha, my a**, I've been lacking on Gaia so much it's insane, I just realised that my outfit on my avatar has nothing evil on it, such as my name would suggest, I should REALLY get some money or something, this is just sad! But oh well, I like my look, it suits my casualness. As a friend of mine, Denny, would say, I look *RoXoR* He plays alot of FPS games, so he knows all about that 1337 crap. I don't really care.
Sincerly yours, The Fallen Angel Lucifer

Well, it's finally Sunday, my birthday, wasn't too bad I guess. I got a happy birthday from most of my friends. And my mom is supposed to give a cake later. I ate ice cream today, hadn't done that in a while. I'm alone as i predicted, but only physically. I think I underestimated what kind of friends I had. I'm feelingf good about today.
