THE BLOODY SIREN
Under the command of: Nuclear Riot
You can call me: Tudis Manankil
I've loved the sea since I was born: six minutes too late 23 years ago.
You can tell I'm not your ordinary corsair: I'm fairly tall, standin' at about five feet and seven inches (six and three-quarters, actually, but let's not make a big deal, ey?) Have got long-ish black hair that go a few inches past the shoulders and my skin's a nice, dark shade of brown from being out in the sun as much as I am. Eyes are dark and.. almond shaped, I suppose, and from there my origins are obvious. My brother and I hail from the East! I wear what's comfortable, usually a dark, short-sleeved shirt or a light one with a vest; ALWAYS shorts or something that goes just slightly past the knees, who in the bloody hell would wear anything longer in this heat and deprive their legs of some color? I've got a few golden rings around my ears and fingers, and the matching silver cross necklace that I've worn for as long--well, alright, nearly as long--as I could remember; it matches my brother's.
You'd best not take me for a fool: I like fighting with my fists, actually. But since we can't be idiotic about it, I like havin' some nice brass (or better!) knuckles on them when the altercation's serious. I'm also good with a swords and am a decent shot. Equipped at all times for safety, of course.
I am skilled in this profession: of Boatswain.
But you see, I'm multi-talented: Decorator. I share the job with my brother.
I joined the Bloody Siren after: my brother and I left home. Seriously. We grew up, said good-bye to our parents--who, by the way, were perfectly wonderful and taught us all the necessary life skills we needed to survive, and then some-- and brothers and sisters (who we might.. go to visit one day, I think I'm actually missing them..but don't tell Juan I've turned into a sap), and traveled around for a while. Mostly on land, at first, but eventually that had to end and once we've crossed our country and reached the coast, we figured we'd take that on too. We'd been staying in a port city for a while (Juan went through a phase when he thought he was actually in love with this local girl, and she wasn't exactly discouraging him, so like it or not, I was stuck there for a while; that ended eventually when he decided to test the bounds and limits of their relationship by jumping into the sack with her brother)... anyways, yes, so, by the great mercy of Lady Luck, The Bloody Siren was at port that day the wench threw us out of her father's inn. Not being able to resist a bit of pillaging, we joined right in, and you know which establishment we want back to visit first. We've been with the crew ever since, and that was 'round.. four, five years ago? Yes. I think so.
Keep in mind, I'm a bit odd: One second I could be perfectly excited, talkative, and sociable, and the next utterly silent and angry at the world with no explanation. Some good music could usually cheer me up from those spells, though, or maybe a good joke or two.
Oh, and one more thing! My brother and I might jabber at each other in our native tongue once in a while. Don't mind it too much.
Under the command of: Nuclear Riot
You can call me: Juan Manankil
I've loved the sea since I was born: just in time, 23 years ago!
You can tell I'm not your ordinary corsair: I don't look any more like Tudis than any other regular brother and sister would, actually. I've got the same black hair (although much more smooth and shiny!) that could look brown in just the right light and my skin's a few shades darker. I'm also taller, nearly six feet, I think. I was around five feet and nine last time I checked, which was years ago, so I'd like to imagine I've grown since. My eyes are nice and slanted and brown, and really, this isn't narcissism talking, they really are quite gorgeous. As for clothing, I usually wear cut-off trousers and cut-off shirts; I like to feel the wind against me skin, yep.
You'd best not take me for a fool: GUNS! Oh, I love guns of all kinds, I've a couple myself. I could show you some time if you want, you just have to ask, love. Of course I've got the other basics down as well, daggers and swords and all that, and of course I'm always up for some bare-handed rumbles. None of those protective gloves and knuckles rubbish for me.
I am skilled in this profession: of Carpentry! If it's broke, I can fix it! Usually, anyways.
But you see, I'm multi-talented: I decorate for the lovely couples; Tudis and I share that responsibility. I've also made one or two (or twenty-five) galleons off my personalized, hand-crafted centerpieces and wedding favors.
I joined the Bloody Siren after: Eh. Ask me sister.
Keep in mind, I'm a bit odd: I'm usually happy and chipper, never angry, really. Only negativity I'll ever be having is some sadness, so try not to bite my head off too harshly if I get a little too annoying for you, hm? Doesn't take too much to hurt my, erm, feelings, but of course I'm not one to whine about them or anything.
Oh, and one more thing! I'm allergic to crabs. Seriously. I don't know why Tudis isn't, but I am. Not deathly so or anything, but God knows they give me a right good itch.
LOST EARTH [Old Irony]
TWELVE YEAR OLD ALWYN
Gaia Name: Nuclear Riot
Character Name: Alwyn Ochoa
Nickname(s): Al
Age: 12
Race: Mixed
Home Planet: Ataris
Appearance: Alwyn is a tan-skinned boy with extremely wavy hair. He usually wears a shirt under a a cut-off jacket, paired off with jeans or shorts. He uses either boots, shoes, or sandals, depending on the weather.
Height: 5'4
Weight: 135 lbs
Eye Color: Dark Brown
Hair Color: Black, but not in the darkest shade
Bio: Alywn was pretty much a regular boy, or at least as regular as they get on the planet Ataris. He was raised by his parents, a pair of middle-class business people, to know the basics for survival in their world. The boy always seemed just a bit more interested in other worlds, however, and after a series of events, he joins the crew of Old Irony when they go for a pit-stop in his city.
Job: All-around, tell-me-what-to-do-and-I'll-do-it-'cause-I'm-younger-than-you guy. Also a negotiator.
Other important things: He's normally very good natured, and has a knack for languages and math.
Sample of your role playing abilities: "Al! Check that one for me, lad." The man nodded towards a vessel about to land on their ports.
Nodding an affirmative, the boy pushed up his sunglasses and jogged to a safe distance from the ship. After waiting a few minutes, he spied the captain of the ship making her way out. Hitching on his family's generic business smile, the boy moved a few steps forward to greet the woman.
(I would keep going, but this is how I imagined their first meeting will be like. ^_^; The woman, if you haven't guessed, which I'm sure you have, is Captain Rhapsor.)
EIGHTEEN YEAR OLD ALWYN
Gaian Name: Nuclear Riot
Character Name: Alwyn Ochoa
Nickname: Al
Age: 18 years old
Gender: Male
Job: Navigator
Race: Atarian
Physical Appearance:
-Height: 5'11"
-Weight: 159 lbs.
-Hair: Appears to be black but is actually just an extremely dark brown, which is evident whenever and wherever there is a bright light. It's curly and on the short side of medium-length, and may sometimes be tied back.
-Eyes: Light brown
-Body Type: Medium frame, muscular, not particularly beefy but slightly lanky; his skin color is a medium-toned yellowish-brown
-Clothing: Alwyn likes to look presentable and usually takes that into consideration when choosing what to wear for the day. Although he prefers to be comfortable, he is known to sometimes sacrifice a little function for fashion when the situation allows for it (meaning the day ahead doesn't require a complete and total range of movement, as far as he's aware). His usual uniform is a lightly fitted muscle shirt of any color, partnered with more elaborately designed pants or shorts, depending on the weather. He sometimes wears his favorite orange jacket that he's had since he was a [younger] child.
-Piercings: Both of his ears have been pierced in multiple places since he was young, but he has recently taken to wearing a single diamond stud on his left earlobe.
Sexuality: Bisexual
Personality: Alwyn is a people-pleaser. He enjoys doing things for other people and, in turn, likes to be appreciated. Other than for maps and dates, his memory is quite atrocious, and this sadly conflicts with his desire to make everyone happy. Few things annoy him, and although it takes a lot to put him in a bad mood, it takes very little to sway him into a good one.
Alwyn enjoys hard work because he was accustomed to getting rewarded for it as a child in the form of verbal praise or extra responsibility as a symbol of trust. His nature is very straight-forward and he is never subtle with important matters, during which, to avoid confusion or misinterpretation, he always lays things out as they are with no sugar-coating whatsoever.
The downside of all this is that he could then be overbearing and annoying, constantly asking people if they feel alright and not able to take a hint when someone just wants time to themselves. When someone is feeling down, he wants to be the one to cheer them up, which isn't always a good thing, especially when whoever's upset simply needs time alone to think things through. He can turn into a bit of a drama queen when he's upset, but all it takes is for someone to show a little concern and he's happy again.
He is extremely affectionate and touchy-feely but doesn't usually mean anything in particular by it.
Brief History: This brief history shall indeed be brief! Alwyn was made, born, and raised in Ataris. His parents were astute businesspeople, and he was taught the ways of their world early on. This meant education in mathematics and economics, as well as a perfected salesman smile and tone of voice. He started helping out with the family's growing vehicle maintenance business when he was very young and since always had a job there. As time went on, a wide array of colorful characters came and went through the shop, and they almost always had a story to tell. Alwyn's interest in space travel was constantly growing and was healthily maintained by said characters. Eventually he decided to go and fulfill his dreams of travel, and his parents, perfectly understanding and with plenty of other children left over to do work, wished him well and sent him off with reminders to keep in touch.
Other: Atarian [Ah-tahr-yan/Ah-tahr-ee-yan]] is the only identifiable name for people hailing from the moon Ataris [Ah-tah-ree]. The moon was one of only a few discovered that were actually habitable, and indeed the very planet it orbits is desolate and lifeless. It was originally founded by various companies through charters given by their individual planets or nations. Eventually, the moon turned into it's own bustling world and gained its own identity in the galaxy. The Atarians eventually grew to desire to be known and recognized as just one group instead of as parts of several different planets and governments that they felt no loyalty or identification with given the lack of direct contact. It took a few wars, but eventually Ataris became politically free from all its motherland ties. The people of Ataris consider the year 3367 as the beginning of their independence.
Given their roots, Atarians come in all shapes and sizes. They are a mix of multiple of races and species, and most citizens are at least bilingual. Today Ataris is an economical world, one of the leaders in business and trade. The scenery varies in different parts of the moon; some places are slick and shining, while others are rusting but reliable, and then there's the countless types in between.
