So plagued are my ponderings,
Swallowed whole by my suffering.
Abandoned are my hopes and dreams,
All for what, empty promises?
Tortured beyond imagination,
fending off demons of past superstition.
No longer can I resist in this struggle.
Abandoned is all I have held dear.
Clawing against the fabric,
ripping my way back into reality.
No peace in my future,
no promise for a better tomorrow,
no joy left in this world.
I have given up, and yet I struggle on.
