Peace.
I've become much more peaceful. I'm glad, it was about time.
On the other hand, I'm also organizing a peace rally for the war in Iraq to end. Just to show the boys out there that we do care about them, and we want them home just as much as they want to come home. There's no reason to fight a political war. There's no reason for this to still be going on. Why can't we be in a time of peace? We've been at war since 9/11 happened, but it's time for our country to move on. Most have moved on with their lives after such a tragedy. No, we'll never forget the souls departed on that day, but why are we still at war? It's not for them. It's for a president who wants to finish what Daddy started. It's not right, it's not fair, and this isn't justice. Justice is bringing our men and women overseas back home and showing them how much we appreciate them. And those that have been killed, we need to honour their memory.
This is why we need to march. To get the word out that we want them home. That we want peace with Iraq. That we're tired of all the fighting for a unjust cause and dying for a politician's war. I appreciate those fighting, but it's time to bring them home.
Peace and Love, Lily Raine

Cynicism is with you always.
I've discovered that you never outgrow your cynicism. It never leaves you, nothing. You can't escape it. I'm returning to my darker self, which is something I wanted to avoid. But, I fear it's inevitable. My personality is still me, but my demeanor shows something inexplicably dark that I can't shed. I can't reach out, because I don't want to be deemed a failure, and I really don't feel like bothering anyone with my problems. I just want to live my quiet life. Y'know, I'd really love to live on a farm and make my living that way, but my love of law won't let me. But is that really enough to keep my sanity? I want to just push everyone away, but I know one I do, I won't get them back again. These aren't the people to take advantage of like that. I couldn't do that to them. Even James, who's hurt me so much, in ways he doesn't even know about. I couldn't hurt him more by shoving him from me. The things I've said to him tore at his deepest fears, and had him wanting to throw himself out a window... I hate myself for it. And yet, thinking about all that, I'm not even tearing up or anything. Completely straight faced. Even said something cheerfully to my brother. I'm a good actress, I guess. My eyes are darker, that's the only difference. But that's why I avoid eye contact for too long. No one can really keep my gaze anymore. I'm not much for small talk either. Where I'd usually engage in light conversation, I'm just quiet now. It's unpleasant, but petty chatter is as well. I feel my shell returning after so many years of fighting it off, and I can't say a damn word to anyone about it. My best friends can't even tell that I might need some help with everything. I want to say this secrecy isn't in my nature, but I'd be lying. It's only recently that I started opening up to people, and that's what got me here. Whatever.
I don't even feel up to my usual ending tonight.
