It felt strange to walk into that room. It was cold and gloomy. The lights flickered on and off like the beats of a heart. There was no furniture, but five doors on the opposite side of the wall. They were all beautiful, with colors like gold, silver and one even with jewels in it. As my eye came to the last door I was a bit confused. It was as plain as the wall it hinged to. It was as white as winter’s first snow and looked as pure as sugar. It had a single design carved into it. I wasn’t sure what it was so I got closer but even then I still didn’t know. I traced the marks with my index finger. Following it’s every curve. I don’t know what made me turn the knob or even when my hand grasped it. I opened it slowly as if I’d never done the task of opening a door. I then felt a rush of cool air that smelled like fresh fruit. I walked in and looked around the room but only found a small wooden box on a glass table. I moved over to the table, but when I reached out for the box the room went black and when the lights came back on I was back where I started. Even now I ask myself what was in that box. So as a result I tried again and again to find out, but each time I end up back at the beginning.
