Well, Christmas pretty much kicked a**. I didn't get all of what I wanted, but who ever does? I spent it in south Florida, just north of Miami with all my relatives. I spent much time kicking my uncle's a** in video games, which felt awesome. Up till now, he would always beat me in everything, but he now has little time for video games because of his fatherly duties. (He reminded me so after every match. xd ) The drive back wasn't so bad. We drove over 1000 miles in one day from Ft. Lauderdale Florida to Sulfur Louisiana.
The one damper in an otherwise great holiday was when we stopped off in Pensacola to pick up my grandparents. The destruction left in hurricane Ivan’s wake was incredible. Their house is still uninhabitable after all this time. They're living in a trailer parked in their driveway. After doing a bit of sightseeing, I realized that they were rather lucky. When you picture the aftermath of a hurricane, you probably think of huge piles of debris. This was certainly the case in most places, but in others, there was simply nothing left. Entire seaside neighbor hoods were completely bulldozed by the storm surge, with nothing left but the concrete foundations. gonk
