She lay torn and broken upon the floor, blood slipping past the wounds upon her chest and in her heart. Her thoughts moving off to him as they always did. The blood now starts to form into the shape of angel wings and her life slowly slips away her words nothing but a whisper... "I knew it could come to this. But never did I know it would hurt so much." Her words trail off as the doors slowly open, There he stood dropping the bags in his hand as he saw her upon the floor he froze at the sight of her and just stood there taking in it all quickly he rushed to her side taking her with in his arms.."Don't go! Come back to me!" She could hear his words but the demons within told her he was better off with the other. Slowly her eyes opened looking up into those blue eyes of his she loved so much, a hand moved up to his cheek and just touched softly a little blood moved down his cheeks as her hand slipped away falling back at her side.

"I always loved you..." Her words made his eyes widen and that's when the tears came to his eyes. Pulling her closer he cradled her and just let his tears fall. They ran down her pale cheek as her breathing slowed and her heart didn't hurt so much anymore, feeling his tears run down her face she just drifted off into the darkness... “No come back...” He choked on his words through his tears as she took her final breath. There he sat with his lover with in his arms in the cold darkness of the room he closed his eyes holding her tight." I will find you and make this all right I promise...” He whispered laying her down. Kage shot up out of his bed and looked about the room bringing a hand up he placed it over his face and just sighed."Why won’t this nightmare end...” every night it was the same dream his promise coming back to haunt him after all these years.

"Lilith I'm so sorry." his words trailed."I shouldn't have done it; I just wish I knew then what I do now..." He seemed to be speaking to no one. Lying back in the bed once more he just looked up at the ceiling as anger filled him for his actions then clenching the bed it had been 4 years since Lilith had committed suicide when she caught Kage cheating on her. In Lilith's mind she figured the other woman was what he wanted this was her way of letting go. "I lost my sweet angel.." he beat himself up each night after that day he never knew how much he loved her till that day. Blue eyes closed once more dreams of her once again filling his dreams, pale fingers run lightly against tan skin her deep blue eyes gaze into his a soft kiss is placed upon his cheek. A smile crosses his lips as she jumps on him knocking him back on the bed she placed a light kiss upon his lips her blond hair fell free from behind her ear slowly she moved laying her head upon his chest.

There she listens closely to the soft beating of his heart. "It only beats for you" he would whisper in her ear. "Don't say such false words" was her reply "You only say what you think I want to hear, you have never truly loved me" Soon her image changed her clothes covered with in blood her once deep happy eyes filled with grief and sadness. Once again Kage was awaken by the nightmares that were starting to feel so real each touch each kiss he could have sworn she was in the room with him. Turning his head to look at the clock, "Its only 3am..." saying quietly to himself rising to his feet, knowing that if he were to fall asleep once more he would see her again...those memories reopened every wound he had suffered that night... But things never did add up Lilith would never kill herself he knew it but the evidence was so convincing... He really didn't know what to think, a small sigh slipped from his lips moving a hand up he brushed a few dark locks from his eyes as he looked in the mirror.

Turning on the cold water it poured from the faucet and into the sink. Once it was filled he reached down and brought the cold water up splashing his face to wake him more another sleepless night like so many before.. Looking back in the mirror he could see something outside the window but when he turned there was nothing." Just seeing things again Kage...” Moving over to the end of the bed he grabbed his black jeans and slipped them on. Kage looked out at the empty streets of Rome the dim light barely lighting up the streets, moving a hand up a slight sight would slip past his lips. He had not slept much in the last four years since he lost her, his nightmares were growing stronger with each passing day as it grew closer to the anniversary of her death. Looking over to the clock that rested upon the nightstand he would shake his head."3am" He would speak quietly it seemed as though time would never move fast enough reaching over he would grab his black leather jacket.

Throwing it over his shoulder he would leave the room it was time he moved one once more Kage would leave his key at the desk and head down the lonely streets, Rome was the one place Lilith has always wanted to see she wanted them to see it together. Everything seemed to remind him of her and everyone but in time he would learn to stop chasing down the woman he would see that he thought were her. She had done so much for him and it seemed to him he never did enough she had always fought for him and protected him and look at where she is now. At the thought a lone tear slid down his cheek he missed her smile and her laugh."Oh how you would have loved this." he would say wiping the tear from his cheek she was the only reason he had even came to Rome something in him wanted to do the things they had always talked of. He would just wish they had done it oh what a fool he was to do the things he did he would take it all back if he could. It was true what they say you can only find your soul mate once in a life time; he was too blind to see it was her.

The streets were so dark and cold that it would send chills down any ones spin and make them paranoid, Kage sighed seeing his breath in the air but he felt something familiar he could have sworn he...felt her arms around him once again a light smile crossed his lips. "Are you watching over me?" He would ask quietly and when all was quiet he seemed to wait for an answer that would never come... Kage looked up to the sky."Give me anything...I just need to know..." His voice was over taken by sadness that could only be comforted by his angel...”Kage..." A soft voice carried upon the winds it seemed warming the air around him."Thank you..." His words trailed as his eyes looked back to the cobble stone street that lay at his feet.

The sweet scent of flowers and candy filled his sense's his eye went wide as he took off sprinting down the street following the scent."It has to be her!" He said taking the corner but finding nothing but an old bookshop still open. He thought it odd but he felt something pulling him to it, entering the shop he looked to the old woman running it. She looked so familiar he thought as he made eyes contact with her. "Can I help you young man?" The old woman would ask Kage as he continued to look at her and when he saw her smile he blinked."Ummm...N...no I'm just looking..." He would say he didn't understand how she could remind him of his lost angel... Walking to the back of the store he found a book at his feet, his head would c**k to the side as he looked to the title of the book bending down to get a better look at it.
