While growing up,she was close to her mother,Who enjoyed mythological things.An interest they both shared.While her parents were out on a simple B-Rank mission,it turned out to end up more of an A-Rank.The one who hired them lied because they couldn't afford to pay for an A-Rank mission,but needed the help.Both of Kasumi's parents had died during that mission.It took 3 days for Kasumi to get the news.This led to her mere interest in mythological things into an obsession.Possibly to make her still feel her connection to her mother.And soon enough the obsession grew stronger,she started to attempt making jutsu based on mythological things.Including chimera,which when found out was assumed she had used humans to help create.Although they had no solid proof of this and so couldn't do anything but keep an eye on her.Soon enough she found out that they were on to her,and so she fled the village before they can do anything.
