Devils Live Here
Oi! This is my journal, if ya don't like it, tough s**t! You shouldn't be reading it in that case. Anywho, I'm dedicating this to anything I think up at any given time.
Life Questions
#1
How do we know what
animals see in our potential
or what plants feel from
Our cold demeanor as we
Mass murder their brethren?

-------------------------------------------
#2
Why is it that I used to
Dream about everything
Between empty nights
And now I dream
Of nothing at all?

-------------------------------------------
#3
Why does green mean
Abundance when so many
Fruits and berries, the night sky
Are shades of velvet blue?

-------------------------------------------
#4
When was the first lie told
To a lover between sheets,
A mother alone that day,
Or a child told not
To hope for too much?

WHOA!

Poems again
Hey ya'll, I'm back. I was grounded and busy, but I'm slowly gaining some online time back. So I'm posting a new poem. Enjoy! Feel free to edit/critique, I appreciate the feedback.

What a dreary, tumbling day
Falling through the lightless tomorrow
I watch the clouds carry on
Their relentless functioning silence
No wind to carry them out of sight
Nothing to hide the gray-cast shadow
Winter of the kindest sort
Hidden by clouds, cover bright sun

We are the clouds of today
And yesterday's clouds have moved past
They've realized it's futile to
Resist that oppressive light
But we still struggle hopefully
To drown out the false cheer
And make you revel in darkness
The velvet-hue passions that come
Without bidding, without warning
To capture us in their ferverent grasp
As we fight to maintain control
Against this raging fire of contact
When our skin collides, no space
Space between to let light slip through
Shadows pressed around and between
Our bodies' warm and melting feel
How these dreary days and weeks
Bring out the excitement not found
In any other unforced action
And we burn through the bedsheets
Sinking into the darkened floor.

If
If I walked on tiptoes
Reached up and
Touched mountains made of clouds
Would you laugh because I'm strong?

If I wet my brush in the light of the stars
Painted a strip of night on your windowsill
Do you laugh at me?

If I drew a wave
In a sea of feathers and ink
In a furious storm
Could you still laugh?

If I painted roses of watercolor
In his garden
Would you still laugh?
Or would you breathe deep
To test their smell?
I ask myself.

A poem by Diandra Jordan from the book Bronx Masquerade. A very good poetry book that I'd read awhile back, I just found this, my favorite poem from it.

Draw an Angel
This poem is by Zefiris4 and was part of a poetry contest a little while back. I fell in love with it immediately, and now I feel the urge to share it with anyone who chances upon my journal.

Draw An Angel

I will draw an angel
And she'll have paper wings
A custom photograph
To print on my epitaph
When the church bells ring

So I pick a pencil and click in some lead
I know it's graphite but I like to feel
That I have the power of poison in my hands

So I pick a pencil and sketch a feather
Try to recall the wings that I can't remember
Try to be the photo's developer

For a negative that never existed

I will etch an angel
And she'll be skinned in scarlet
A little deeper than a tattoo
Sin? Yes I'll trace that too
And see how it sells on the black market

Play with pocketknives and switch the blades
Make an art out of the masses' escape
Play with pocketknives and switch on the music
Contemplate how the demi-gods sing
But I still don't remember how to draw her wings

Yes I would paint an angel
And she'd have charcoal eyes
Paint my own Monet
To grace the funeral soiree
My eloquent elegiac design

But I've forgotten what a wing looks like
And it's hard to photograph a bird in flight
~Zefiris4~

Please respect her creative abilities by giving her credit for this poem. Thanks!

Another Poem- YAY!
This is gonna seem like
The average fifteen year old's anguished poem
About the vain and superficial world
Written from the vantage point
Of a loner forever hiding.
Yet no one ever knows just what
Is going on in my heart, my soul
Just the typical stereotype of
The teenaged anguish poem.
I'm an artist with a passion
A singer with my own song.
There's hope in my mind even while
I'm hiding behind my facade.
You think I'm the average blonde
A ditz with never a thought
But how do you know this?
While I try to be carefree
There's a constant struggle
A struggle to find myself despite
The world's best efforts to suppress it.
Constantly being the comforter
My friends' emotions weigh upon me
Make me seem older than my age.
I love my friends, but they make me tired
So tired sometimes I wonder
How they can even keep going
Living in this imagined importance
While I fall into the imagined world
The world of an anguished poem.
