I look out my window at the setting sun. Long shadows follow the cars that pass - distant and cold in the winter's snow. The clouds pass slowly, shimmering with golden lace and pink kisses. It's stunning, beautiful.

I look past at the trees that line the roads, knowing they're nothing more than decoration. I long for the forest. I long for the freedom and seclusion.

I feel like I'm walking in circles - following the walls of my cage. I'm forced into this rut with cold, cutting fingers of barbed wire, and the hot searing kiss of fire. They threaten my every movement. They ensure there is no escape.

Now I can't breathe, and the beauty outside my window disappears. I'm blind. I'm deafened. I'm lost in this darkness, suffocating and crying for life and light.

I want to run. Not even the stars come to me to guide my way. I'm so lost.

I just want to run....
