I only recently returned to Gaia and my gold was rather lacking. So I decided to go ahead and sell my Donation letters I had been holding on to. I'm not a hardcore Gaian, so I don't horde all I can. I just wanted some fast gold. So I searched the Gaian market for Price amounts and set up my Jan, Feb, Mar, and April 2005 letters for a little under the lowest Buy Now price to make my price a little more attractive even if it was only about 500-1k under.

I was shocked to see that the Mar letter was selling around 35k. So I set mine to be 29950 to be a little under the 31k asking price of the lowest Buy Only. As soon as I set it up I got the following PM. At the same time my letter had already been bought. The convorsation that ensued is as follows:

Heh, you're funny. I went and checked the prices before I sold it so I could sell it for a little less to ensure an immediate sale. Maybe you don't know how to read numbers.

It's selling for more than 30,000 gold. That's THIRTY THOUSAND. Not THREE thousand. But I don't feel like dragging this silly convorsation on anymore.

The point is is you're trying to buy an item you can't afford. Also, I don't have the said item that you are trying to buy anymore anyways. Leave me alone, noob.

The letter that I was selling, that you asked about was the 2005 March letter. THAT particular letter sells for 30k and up. Other letters sell for different prices. Some letters DO in fact sell for 4k, but that wasn't what I was selling. If you mixed up the precise letter that is your fault. I was talking about the March letter worth 30k. I don't know what the hell you're talking about. Obviously you really don't know what you're talking about if you think every donation letter sells for 4k.
