Chronicles of a surrogate...father?
I and a friend decided that with the oncoming of everyone getting pregnant that we know, we thought we should keep up and have a baby, but since she's in school, I didn't want the baby to interfere with her education, so since I'm taking a break from
11/6/06 - the egg has arrived and the surgery is complete!
Two days of agonizing wait for my precious egg to arrive and it's here! I received word from St. Vincent's labs that I should go immediately. I went about 12:15 and arrived about ten minutes later. (Lucky for me it's down the road a bit.) They had to fertilize it and then surgically place it in my abdomen area. I don't remember what they called it, but they said it was latin or something. Whatever. All I know is that my trip down parenthood begins! I'm carrying life in me. I'm so excited. I think next time Amanda's in town we'll go shopping for nursery supplies. So much to do! Lamaze...car seats...clothes...is it a boy or girl? I think I want to be surprised. I'm not sure yet. My mind is just racing with excitement. Though I have to take it easy they say. The incision is sewed shut, but they don't want it breaking open quite yet. I dear say, I hope I'm getting a C-section because I'd hate to think of where this kid's coming out!

More updates as time goes on! I guess the next step now is cleaning out a room and painting it white for the oncoming of the baby. We'll see!

Take care everyone!

Day 1. The Decision!
So today I was talking with a friend from Minneapolis such named Amanda Lee. We got to discussing various topics and the subject of pregnancy came up. Apparently everyone around us is getting pregnant and we thought it would be important to keep up with this new apparent fad.
So we decided that we should get pregnant, but with Amanda Lee in school, she didn't have much time to care for a child. Ya know? With classes, and work, and not to mention extra curricular activites, raising a child would be irresponsible. For her!
So we've come to a conclusion! I'll take on the child bearing! She's going to send me an egg in the mail and hopefully it should be here by Monday. It had to be flown in because we're freezing it and we don't want it to thaw prematurely and thus destroy the whole ordeal.
Then what we'll do is inject the egg inside my abdomen area...(Belly. I've got plenty of room there.) Then I'll carry it for nine months and when it's born Amanda will fly to Green Bay to help take care of the child. She should have graduated by then.
I'm so excited! I hope it's a girl. Then she'll look to me as "Daddy" and she'll be my princess and we'll be a big happy family.
So I'll be blogging about this experience as it's happening! I'll update you all on Monday to tell you how the injection of the egg went. I'll send some DNA and we'll build a way to fertilize it so that the whole nine months will work inside of me. So keep on the lookout on Amanda's and my baby!
Take care!
-Eric
P.S. I'm stocking the fridge with pickles and ice cream. I hear women eat that when they are pregnant, though since I'm the one whose gonna be pregnant maybe I should have stocked it with fried chicken and pudding.
