Originally from: Prior to California, this pretty boy was brought up in the cobbled streets of Spain. Well, not literally in the cobble streets. Not at all. He was in a nice paved driveway, acres of fresh green grass and statues and fountains scattered about when they were aesthetically pleasing to the eye.
E! True Hollywood Story: His Father is one of the Judges in the Supreme Court of Spain. While that really had no affect on the boy, his Mother was a very well known Actress in the Spanish world. While the movies never really hit the States, within the country, she was very, very popular. Although, some people outside of Spain know her for the movies, but typically it is just those native to his country. She was one of the reasons that he actually began his career. His mother had suggested that he try out for one of the school plays, and then a commercial, the list goes on. At a time when his mother and he had been in California due to an audition that was there, and that they have a beach house there, Mateo wound up falling in love with the state. There was just something about the shining sun and the many nice cars that really did it for him – mainly the cars. Ever since he turned fifteen, he had been living in California, although randomly brought back to Spain by his Parents’ wishes.
