Yeah yeah a whole four or so people will even see this. Whatever.

Many <3 to the handful of people with their kind words about my work. I've missed this place a lot, and I've missed being able to help people out around here. I've seriously considered getting my site up to date, but there's a truly staggering amount of information I'd need to obtain ("WHERE DO ALL THESE ITEMS COME FROM WTF"), along with a few other problems. You know, aside from the whole "wait a minute, who the hell are you again?" thing.

The GAvSim itself is now obsolete since the devs FINALLY added a multiple preview feature (TOOK YOU GUYS LONG ENOUGH) and I have no hope of properly mimicking the current avatar system. My skills of a PHP coder are not quite that great, and as previously mentioned, I was unable to get the code set up in a manner that didn't make my host curl up and die (too many people generating images all at once). I had originally planned on putting a timer on how often images could be generated, but couldn't come up with a time that would actually help while not being annoying to the user. On top of that, there's a much higher number of items that are partially transparent. These things are a huge pain in the a** to get ported over, you have no idea. The few that made it into the GAvSim were manually recreated and just didn't look quite right.

However... I do currently have a fair amount of spare time, and I think the housing system is still mostly the same. If my old method of harvesting house images still works, I can at least get that updated just for the hell of it, it just means I have to go rifling through people's houses again.

I dunno. I'd ask for everyone's input but only a few people are going to see this anyway. :V

I had only briefly considered this idea when Pixelated Chibiety PMed me with a suggestion to create it... so I suppose I will. :>

I already have most images, so there's no issue there. The system itself will take some time to code, so in the meantime, I'll be putting together a simple preview page for all the items. Once that's up, I'll make another entry here and make note of it on the GAvSim.net updates page.

Yep, that's right. I'm trying to make GAvSim.net a full-fledged info site since I have more than enough space and bandwidth available to me. (<3 to Dreamhost for their AWESOME space/bandwidth increase deal.) If you have a suggestion for a feature, just leave a comment on this entry.

Today's update to the housing sim brings a couple new features. You can now make exact adjustments to the layering either by moving it up or down by one at a time or type in a specific layer number. Also, in the little info box you'll now find a price (if it's a store item), a link to add it to your wishlist, and a link to search for it in the Marketplace. This is only for objects at the moment, not wall/floor tiles.

I also fixed the Gothic set, it was mysteriously missing a bunch of stuff. o_O
