The rain drenches me from head to toe as I squish in my boots on the tile floor. I shed my waterproof garments and my new coat is of wool and warmth. There is nothing like home. My kitten greets me with a purr and a snuggle, I return the kindness by lifting her into my arms and cradling her like a human infant, tapping her stomach and letting her paw at my fingers playfully. I set her down on my desk where she soon curls up on the top shelf and sleeps among the cozy fabrics that I have laid out. Every once in a while, waking to check on me with her yellow gaze. I let the music my father had shared with me before he died flow through my ears, I close my eyes and search the lyrics for images and words. It flows freely like a clear, Amazonian stream. This is my workplace, this is my sanctuary...
Just so you can get an idea of the feeling of my apartment.
