I work at Winn Dixie and it is Halloween night. I check someone out on the register and as they leave I said, "Happy Halloween!"
They turned around and said, "We don't celebrate Halloween, it is the work of the devil."
All I could think of was what the hell? Then I told them that Halloween is not satanic, it was a holiday established before all saints day. November first is all saints day and the night before was holy eve. As time went by holy eve became Hallows eve and then as more time went by it became Halloween. It was a day for people to confuse spirits during celebrations. Not to worship the devil.
Then they told me to read my bible and it would tell me that Halloween is the devils work.
Well I hate to burst your bubble but The bible was written before Halloween became a holiday. So unless there is a prophecy in the bible saying that there will be a holiday dedicated to the devil or something then the bible has nothing on Halloween.
I wish people would get their bible thumping mentality out of the way and open their minds a little bit.
In the end all I felt was sorry that they refuse to celebrate a fun holiday because of their ignorance,
