Teeth perfectly alligned
Her skin is smooth and clear
Not a single fault is to be seen
Her eyes as clear as the sea
She's happy they say
Always around friends
Never in trouble

They don't see her smile is dimming
Her teeth no longer have the shine
Her skin is rough as if worn down by sand paper
Her eyes show the pain
The pain of years of abuse
Of neglect
Her eyes show the tiredness that consumes her
They show the sadness that she is sure to drown in
