.... is CLUTTERING!

Sure, I can understand if you want to get cool stuff to put on your avvie. Doesn't everybody? No, no, don't take this entry the wrong way. The real people I'm criticizing are the community.

Have you ever noticed upon entering an avatar contest thread, and you're just about to vote when suddenly your computer loads the avvies' images.
GASP!!
The contestants are as cluttered with as much crud as could make 12 other avatars (one each) look better, in my opinion. Ah, but wait, there is one. One who is not cluttered, one who's layout is tasteful, and one who is actually good looking. You vote for them. With high hopes, you watch the polls, hoping they'll get the motherload. Alas, you know what happens. The clutteriest, most horrid avvie wins by a landslide. Hmm, it appears Gaia thinks "If you're not cluttered with all this cool crap, you're practically naked, and, therefore, inappropriate." Those people have no respect for someone who can pull off a relatively inexpensive, tasteful outfit, sold in a regular store, and would much rather someone with much more time and gold on their hands.

It's called originality. ORIGINALITY. In other words, you thought of the look yourself and it is not dictated by the nitemare set, angelic set, or both, etc.

If this has offended you, I have only this to ask: Did it make you think? That is all I ask of you, people of Gaia. My purpose is not to offend, but to enlighten with a point. Comment if you want, but if you have nothing to say but "You're stupid, ignorant, thoughtless, etc. etc.", then don't bother.
