Was listening to Comes and Goes by Greg Laswell.... Always with the song obsessions... ^.^;

The whole world is sleeping
as we sit side by side,
hand in hand.
The sun is sitting just above
the horizon of trees, blanketing the tall things.
I am burning the moment into memory,
hands shaking,
because I will never forget
the moment the whole world slept.

I am afraid that I am not me.
I know that I am to you,
but you love me.
And I love you more than anything I have ever known.
I am frightened
that I will you crush you
with everything I am thinking.
The weight of love
is like thousands of heavy blankets.

I want to tell you everything,
but I feel like the Beast;
and you, love, are my beauty,
precious and pure.
I could never explain to you
everything that I have seen and felt and thought.
If I tried,
words would spill out like water
and I would only accomplish sobbing.

I would never make you wear those heavy blankets.
It’s so sad that
I know,
no matter how many blankets you carry,
you would offer to take mine.

I have never been alone,
for I’ve always known you,
I’ve waited for you
to find me.
I sit beside you,
silent still,
my soul bubbling with life,
as the whole world sleeps.
