They say im illiterate
but what do you expect
Chains surround me, people hate me
and there are whips around my neck
America, home of the brave
or better yet home of the slave
Everyone can make it by except us
no matter how hard we try
we cant rise up
Familys seperated, i lost my mother
Familiys seperated, they killed my brother
Look down on me, call me a wisher
but you weren't there when they killed my sister

All these people fight for us
But the same people just give up
we lost are drive, our souls our lives
Freedom isn't being free, its how you survive
How you overcome challenges
defeat tribulations
Be a real human being
lead over nations
Barack Obama yeah he's up there now
Is work getting done? i dont see how
They say im illiterate but can you blame me
Cant go to a good school
and people frame me
you see a gun you see black
You see a dead man you see black
Justice is blind but it can seem to peek
just a little bit to watch us sink
Where is the love, our kingdom come
Is this what America calls freedom?
