“Forks? Who in the world would call a town Forks?” I asked my mother, Daniel Butler, in disgust. “I don’t know, hun. Just deal with it, okay? It’s no big deal.” She said angrily, pressing on the gas pedal a little more. “No big deal! Oh I’m Nicolette Butler, and I live in Forks!” I shouted raising my hands in the air. “Now, now, Nico, don’t shout.” Said my brother acting like my mother. I whipped my head around so fast at him I got lightheaded quickly. “You shut your giant doughnut hole up!” I snapped at him. I clenched my jaw tightly while I glared at him. He glared back at me. His eyes tightening every few seconds.
“Would you guys stop?” asked my mom loudly, almost angrily. I sighed, then turned around, and folded my arms around my rather large chest. I put my chin on the little ledge on the door, and looked out the window. My breath made the area around my mouth fog up on the window. Mountains passed slowly as we sped down the interstate. My brother, Ace Butler, and me had lived in Denver, Colorado for all our lives. It was going to be weird to live in a very, very small town. After I cleared my anger at Ace I turned around slowly to ask him “What do you think?”
“About what?” he asked stupidly. “You know dumb-a**.” I growled. “Nicolette Butler! You do not cuss in front of me! Only when I’m not around.” Shouted my mother, furious now. “Sorry, mom you know I love you.” I said nicely flapping my rather long eyelashes at her. “I hate it when you do that.” She grumbled. “Now, Ace, you know what your sister means, please don’t bug her.” Said my mom. “Thank you!” I shouted. I heard Ace grumble under his breath “I think it’ll be fun living in Forks.” He shrugged. “You do?” I asked wide eyed, and astonished. “Yeah, I could be know for my skills.” He said. “What skills?” I asked my eyes narrowing. “You know drawing, and basketball.” He said his voice getting angry.
“I know! I’m joking with you. I’m sure I’ll be known for what I can do, too. Like volleyball, and singing.” I said simply turning around. “You guys know that popularity isn’t everything.” My mother said. “We know.” Ace and I said in unison
