Whew, this has been an amazing weekend! I sat down on saturday afternoon expecting this to be a bit like last year, with the mad posting for candy, the hunt for Jack, the usual right?
WRONG!!!!!
eek After getting through 6+ hours of site shutdowns, invisible candy, and such (And a break to go see "The Village" as a holloween treat (ugh, was soo good up till the last 20 minutes..
sweatdrop )), I finally have a clue as to whats going on. Summary: Admins are still making the system as they go along (as usual for events), and are only half finished.
With the candy 'system' on the workbench, I go check out the gambino party. Mingle Mingle Mingle ... and sudenly I see a thread made by a Labtech! "What the hell...", I have to check it out, at least until I can get my Jacked items.
He jumps from thread to thread... getting more and more suspicious, and suddenly he's in Labtech 062's retirement thread, which is LOCKED. Before you know it, things are going from wierd to freaky to fsking awsome, as the drama of the zombie takeover is unfolding in front of me. I even got to do some RP-ing in one of the main ballroom threads
All hell Hath broken Loose! (only the first 11 pages are relevant)Anyways.. suddenly , the entire site gets jumpy, and I refesh the page... and theres a HEALTHBAR NEXT TO MY NAME?! Did they get the combat system up in time for the part? I keep praying, but it turns out that the system is still under dev., and it takes quite a while before I'm blasting zombies and taking bites.
twisted cool Things are still laggy though, and by now its already 4am.... I finally manage to get my first Jack item using a wierd shortcut coding,and go to bed dissapointed....(after taking care of my drunken roommate who was out getting smashed the entire time

Next Day!! "Alright!" I said, now that I know whats going on, I can get all the Items I want. I manage to get a few more Jack items before I have to get to studying on main campus. Can't concentrate. Manage to get within 3 items of a full set, and decide to go hunting....
cool LABCOATS FOR 100 KILLS?! Its on! I discern that its easier to get bites than to shoot, so I drop my gung-ho human model and just get into biting anything that moves. God, I couldn't focus on ANYTHING other than getting that coat. And then... it is done. I bask in the sight of 5 jack items, a couple T-shirts and not one, but 2(!) Human labcoats. Mission accomplished .
biggrin Dinner time! By the time my crusade had finished, it was 9pm, and damn was I hungry. Run over to a place I know and come back an hour later to the sight of Gambinos destroyed Mansion! I look at my new threads, and walk away, knowing I got what I wanted. Goofed off/studied for another hour or so until night came back around 11, and then hammered home the last 3 Jack items. Damn, it was only after I clicked on jack for the 8th time that it really hit home how big the event was. I had just finished devoting over 12 hours on this thing, almost half of my viable weekend time (second only to sleep!), so the lifting of the pressure to get all 8 items felt pretty damn good!
By then it hit me, its 2 am... Class starts in 7 hours.... ugh. But wait... Holloween hasn't left Gaia yet! While I must get back to my room and sleep, there's still tommorrow to grab a few spare items that can help fill the coffers!
