Bleh, at last finals are over. Well, at least for me anyway. I got off lucky this year and didn't have any finals on Wednesday since I have 5th Tuesday / Thursday off and 6th off the entire week. Woot, no school tomorrow. Of course, I am still coming to give out a few last minute gifts and get some from a few people who are being late as well.........yeah, I can't think of anything else to add besides maybe that the Trig final flat out sucked. Hardest test I have taken in a really long time and I'll be lucky if I get an 85% on that piece of crap. Well, I think I am done ranting and raving so....ta!

Well, yesterday was the first day back to school. It was nice since I only had two classes and was able to go home early. I really like my schedule this year because I have a bunch of off hours and I ended up with all the classes and teachers I requested. As for those you who are unfamiliar with the way my school works, we open enroll which means we select which classes went want to take that sememster. Keep in mind that we still have to meet a required amount of hours for each subject to graduate but it allows us an extreme amount of freedom of choice. Furthermore, they have granted us off hours which are essentially the hours during the day that you di not have a class. You can study, do homework, eat, sleep, go to the mall (yes there is a mall walking distance from the school), or just hangout. There are also a number of restaurants in the vacinity and thanks to open campus, we can leave and go get lunch or go to the mall during off hours.

Just as the subject implies, I went camping over the weekend up in the mountains. ((If you were wondering, I live in Colorado so the mountains are fairly accessible)). We went hiking up by Vail and then rented some bikes and took a lift up to the top of Vail Mountain and biked down on some service roads and on some bike trails. Very fun. Very bumpy but very fun.

Yea, just like the subject says, "Summer is ending!!" Only a few more weeks till we are forced back into the slave camp known as school where we once again try to make good grades and actually understand the work that is given to us. Course the summer has been awesome.
HIGHLIGHTS : I got to go to Hawaii for two weeks : I was able to attend the TSA Nationals con in Chicago, Illinois : I fell 10 feet out a tree and hit a fence on the way down : I toped out with a little over 1000 songs on my computer (totalling 70 hours of music)

Chicago: The Fairly Breezy City |
|
|
|

|
Well I just got back from Chicago and needless to say, it did not live up to its title of the 'Windy City' since in the 4 days that I was there, I felt barely a breeze at times. However, despite the lack of air movement, I had a really nice time there. I was taking part in the TSA Nationals conference (no, not Transportation Security Administrtation but rather Technology Student Association....now you know why we call it TSA). Anyways, I participated in 3 events and finaled in 1 (meaning I was in the top 10) Unfortunately I did not recieve a trophy for being in the top 3 but being in the top 10 is better than nothing.

Fun at Byers (if anyone has any idea where that is) |

My friend Ryan and I recently went out to Byers with his family to visit some friends of his parents. I was lucky enough to be able to spend the night out there and it was very entertaining. On Saturday, we went shooting and I was able to fire a 9mm M92 Pietro Barreta. VERY FUN. Course the thing had some major recoil and a hair trigger. Because of that, Ryan accidently shot a hole in the Dannor's metal barn. Luckily, no one was hurt but it was a great ending to the day. Then on Sunday, Ryan and I went driving with Gauge in the Dannor's Jimmy that they let us drive on our own (keep in mind that we are all 16 and none of us have licenses). We were driving around on the Dannor's 40 acres and the brakes got pressured up and Ryan couldn't stop so we ran over a sapling. Not good for the tree but still very funny. To make the day complete, we drag raced a kid on an ATV. Him on the street and we on the Dannor's property. It was a tad rough to say the least. But all in all, the whole trip was really fun and very funny.

Getting started.....finally |

Jeez, I have been here for quite some time and I just now get my journal up and running. Ah well, it is here now so I hope ya all enjoy.
Recent News TSA State Con.: Well this is both good news and bad news. I was able to place in Trans Mod (1st) and Chapter Team (3rd). However, someone stole my Trans Mod car and I have to build a new one for Nationals, which is in Chicago this year. The thing that is really bad is that the car cost me a ton of money to build and the portfolio with it was taken too. See it is pretty easy to replace (the portfolio) except for my hand-drawn drawings of my car, a Toyota Rav4, and a Mini Cooper. Oh well, I guess I will need to get in contact with some of the other chapters and see if they know anything.
