The two dragons meet atop the mountain. Their paths had crossed several times during the ascension, but it was here, at the summit, that the dance begins. Twirling about one another with their long bodies, they take each other's position. Next, they circle, one arcing high in the air while the other mirrors the motion at the base, binding them close together. A final, or perhaps penultimate, motion: a tangling twist in the body that binds them tighter still. To each other, to the mountain, to their duty. The cautious find another writhing step to the dance, but when it is finished, the dragons rest. They will dance again tomorrow.
