I was a princess once. Hundreds of years ago, I lived in a white castle. My bedroom was open, with a giant, sky-high ceiling. It spanned wider than any other room in the castle. There were glowing candles that cast creamy orange light across the gray brick walls. My bed was large, with a plush mattress, soft sheets, and a fluffy comforter that kept me warm even in the winter. There was only one wooden door, the one that leads into the room. There was a balcony too, one with a beautiful view of the forested mountains that turned pink every morning. I miss it. I miss the gardens full of roses and crisp grass. I miss the cool river that flowed just at the edge of the palace grounds. I miss my beautiful life.
