Medical update:
Hello dear Sinners and Breadwinners I've got something important to announce and go over. In general I tend to keep my rl life private and seperated from online however I feel like what has been going on this year affects both greatly.
At the start of Nov I nearly collapsed from not being able to breathe properly. In the past I've dealt with asthma and so for a good month and a half I suffered through symptoms that I originally thought was due to that. We had been dealing with forest fire smoke in my area since Aug and I had a run in with massive amounts of dust in Sept and Oct so at the time I thought nothing past the usual suspect. Cept things got increasingly worse.
By the end of Oct I was having to pause every couple of minutes to rest and catch my breath. I managed but it was incredibly uncomfortable but soon that shifted to pure misery. Some of the symptoms I had weren't adding up. They were slightly different from what I was used to from asthma.
Finally Nov 9th I called it quits and limped to the Urgent Care. Got Xrays which then confirmed my gut feeling. I had a collapsed lung! And the reason for that was due to fluid in my chest cavity crushing it. They told me to go to the ER asap. My partner took me to the ER and I was brought in by wheelchair because I was unable to walk even short distances.
Long story short they rammed a tube between my ribs then and there to drain 2 out of the 4 liters of fluid from me to give some relief. They did a CT scan that showed 2 masses. 1 in my chest (the largest) and one in my abdominal cavity. The one in my chest was causing the fluid build up and put pressure on my organs.
Next thing I knew I was being swept off to surgery so they could take samples and drain the rest of the fluid from me. My overnight stay ended up being 2 weeks. Between all that I had a tube in me for draining, got several scans, got a IV port installed into my chest, and finally got a diagnosis for what the masses were.
Cancer. Lymphoma, specifically.
They moved me to the cancer treatment floor for my long term stay and I started my first round of chemo a week after being first admitted to the ER. During that time my phone struggled to load much of anything. So I was very much cut off from the world for most of the time. I got to watch the leaves grow brittle and fall while stuck behind glass and concrete. Family and friends who lived close by gave me support and I am eternally grateful for them. My partner was at my side at any moment they could be.
After getting home the chemo symptoms set in for about a week. My mouth was ******** and I could barely eat because it felt like I had strep throat. Energy was basically 0 so I slept a lot. 2 weeks passed since the first round of treatment and my hair started to fall out so I shaved my head. I really haven't had much mental capacity to talk or chat with people again until recently.
This is why I stopped streaming abruptly and disappeared from the internet for the past 2 months. Juggling things has been a challenge but we are managing. At the time of going to the ER I did not have insurance but luckily I do now through my state. I got lucky. On top of all of this I've been dealing with end of life stuff going on with my papa. As well as dealing with my family over that.
So unfortunately a lot of things I wanted to do this year just didn't get to happen. Thank you for yer patience while I scoop my life back up and reassess my life. I'll try to be on here more when I can but don't expect much from me. Extra things like events and holiday celebrations will be paused for The Sassy thread. I had one planned for 10k pages but it's gone to the way side. Thank you for reading this far and thank you to everyone who supports me and continues to support our small community in The Sassy Succubus. It means the world to me.
If you would like to contribute to my recovery and go beyond moral support, I have a Throne. It is not expected but is appreciated. Thank you again~
