Words of Wisdom
Spartan87 words of wisdom a friend sent me ONE. Give people more than they expect and do it cheerfully y.
TWO. Marry a man/woman you love to talk to. As you get older, their conversational skills will be as important as any other.
THREE. Don't believe all you hear, spend all you have or sleep all you want.
FOUR. When you say, "I love you," mean it.
FIVE. When you say, "I'm sorry," look the person in the eye.
SIX. Be engaged at least six months before you get married.
SEVEN. Believe in love at first sight.
EIGHT. Never laugh at anyone's dreams. People who don't have dreams don't have much.
NINE. Love deeply and passionately. You might get hurt but it's the only way to live life completely.
TEN.. In disagreements, fight fairly. No name calling.
ELEVEN. Don't judge people by their relatives.
TWELVE. Talk slowly but think quickly.
THIRTEEN! .. When someone asks you a question you don't want to answer, smile and ask, "Why do you want to know?"
FOURTEEN. Remember that great love and great achievements involve great risk.
FIFTEEN. Say "bless you" when you hear someone sneeze.
SIXTEEN. When you lose, don't lose the lesson.
SEVENTEEN. Remember the three R's: Respect for self; Respect for others; and Responsibility for all your actions.
EIGHTEEN. Don't let a little dispute injure a great friendship.
NINETEEN. When you realize you've made a mistake, take immediate steps to correct it.
TWENTY. Smile when picking up the phone. The caller will hear it in your voice.

Heart-Felt Passages
"One autumn night, five years before...His heart beat faster and faster as Daisy's white face came up to his own. He knew that when he kissed this girl, and forever wed his unutterable visions to her perishable breath, his mind would never romp again like the mind of God. So he waited, listening for a moment longer to the tuning-fork that had been struck upon a star. Then he kissed her. At his lips' touch she blossomed for him like a flower and the incarnation was complete." (The Great Gatsby, pp. 110-111)
"She felt that this evening, when the two men would meet for the first time, must be the most decisive day of her life. And she kept picturing them to herself, either singly or both together. When she thought of the past, she dwelt with pleasure and tenderness on the memories of her relations with Levin. Memories of childhood and Levin's friendship with her dead brother lent a peculiar poetic charm to her relations with him. His love for her, of which she was quite certain, was flattering and made her feel happy. And she could recall Levin with a light heart. In her memories of Vronsky, on the other hand, there was a kind of strained feeling, though he was a thoroughly well-bred man of the world, a man of even temper; but there seemed to be a sort of insincerity, not in him, for he was very simple and charming, but in herself, while with Levin she felt quite natural and untroubled. On the other hand, as soon as she thought of her future with Vronsky, a dazzling perspective of happiness rose before her; with Levin her future seemed rather misty." ( Anna Karenina, p. 58 )
"At first Anna sincerely believed that she was displeased with him for daring to pursue her; but soon after her return from Moscow, having gone to a party where she expected to meet him, and at which he did not turn up, she clearly realized, by the feeling of sadness that came over her, that she had been deceiving herself, that his pursuit was not only not disagreeable to her, but that it constituted the whole interest of her life..." (Anna Karenina, pp. 151-152)
