(( A rant for people to think about))
After close consideration ( And being extremely bored at school, we do close to nothing.....) I have decided to make a random post about.....what does it mean to be emo (It's been on my mind forever and ever and I need to get it out) So, what does it mean? Here's the def. I found on wikipedia (For I have no life...)

"When referring to a person's personality and attitude, most definitions of emo hold that an "emo person" is candid about their emotions, sensitive, shy, introverted, broken-hearted, glum, and often quiet. Emo personality is also often connected with writing poetry, which addresses confusion, depression, loneliness, and anger, all resulting from the world's inability to understand the author. Emo poetry uses a combination of any of: a highly emotional tone, stream of consciousness writing, a simple (ABAB) or nonexistent rhyme scheme, references to the flesh, especially the heart, heavy use of dark or depressing adjectives, concern over the mutability of time and/or love, and disregard for punctuation, grammar, and/or spelling. Themes such as life is pain are common.

Some definitions of emo hold that typical "emo persons" are likely to inflict self-injury, most often by means of cutting, burning, or otherwise mutilating themselves. Some assert that it is cool within the emo subculture to pretend to be suicidal and self-harm, or that participants self-harm purely for personal enjoyment."

So what does this really mean? It's hard to say what a "true emo" is when you think about it. Not everybody is the same now are they? So aprently, the term Emo (according to that deff.) Means to be emotional. But there's nothing too wrong with that...right? ARGH! We're just people who are DIFFERENT *gasps* I said the word....I said different! Oh no...That's a cursed word! *rolls her eyes and sighs* The human race is a afriad of difference. That's what causes racisim and what not. So what do people have against the Emos? Here's what I have gathered:

1. We use out depression and cutting for attention. That's not true. We don't. Well...some people might...but not everybody
2. Our music is a leading cause of suicide. Uh huh....If we're so easily sucked into depressing music...and end up doing it....then that's what person. I'm sure a lot of people listen to worse stuff and don't even take it to heart.
3. We're a different. *stares* So what!? People don't hate punks or goths for being differnt! So why whould Emo's be treated differently? It's unfair for anybody.

If being emo means being emotional than I am emo! xd
I'm very emotional. Most of the time for no reason...

I think that being "emo" is something that is quite new and recently become fashionable. Therefore it leads to doubting how real the people who call themselves "emo" (or don't call, just act in that way) are? Have they always been like that (only not noticeable) or have they just adopted that kind of behaviour to be fashionable?
