I got lots of candy today. XD Yay. My parents gave me some and then my grandparents gave me some. We went to this weird place to eat. It was at a hotel or whatever. In fact it was right near the hotel we went to for Thanksgiving. Yeah my family for whatever reason has started doing this for holiday meals. Anyway, as I said, the place was weird. XD And quite amusing. First when we got there, we had reservations, but for whatever reason we had to stand around for forever waiting. That was annoying. I dunno what was up with that. But we were a really big group. It was me, my mom, my dad, my grandma, my grandpa, and my cousins Jake, Jenny, and Elisa, and Jenny and Elisa's boyfriends. We were standing around talking and whatever and I saw grandma had candy for us and tried to steal it. XD And while we were talking my grandma couldn't remember when my birthday was and thought I had turned twentyone already and was old enough to drink. So I said yes I had but Jenny knew better and was like "Wait a minute" and by then I was laughing about it and then my grandma figured out that my birthday wasn't until August. It's funny that this topic came up and I only mention it because of what happened later. We all sat down, it was a large table since there were so many of us, and me, Jenny, and her boyfriend were at one end with Jake and my parents in the middle and Elisa and her boyfriend and my grandparents down at the other end. After everyone sat down my grandma passed around all the candy to us grandchildren. XD So I of course started eating candy before my meal. But that's nothing new. Anyway the waitress came and asked us what we wanted to drink and we ordered and the older people asked for champagne. Well apparently everyone gets two drinks, a regular drink and the champagne and obviously this waitress didn't know to check for IDs or ask ages or anything because she brought the regular drinks and then came back later and gave everyone else another glass and champagne. When she was pouring Jenny's we kind of looked at each other and laughed and I had to like try to keep myself from laughing because I always laugh in stupid situations like these, when I know something is going on that should not be going on and people do stupid things that are advantageous to me or others. XD So the three of us, who are ages eighteen, nineteen, and twenty, me being oldest, got drinks along with everyone else. After she walked away we were laughing about it again and I think my mom even thought it was kind of funny, and she said I could drink it because "the waitress gave it to me". XD That was her reasoning. I love my mom sometimes. Sometimes I can't stand her but other times I love her because she can be funny and now that I'm older she's not all protective of me as much as she used to be. So yeah all three of us drank it. I don't know about anyone else but I hated the stuff. It tasted nasty. I mean I've heard that alcohol can taste bad and well, it really was pretty disgusting. I drank about half of it mainly just to see if it would make me feel any different because I really could not stand the taste but I don't think it did much. I was giggly and stuff but I think that's more because the situation was really funny to me. Especially because my grandma at the other end of the table was oblivious about it the whole time and how earlier she'd been saying Jenny wasn't allowed to drink because she wasn't old enough and being confused about my age. Towards the end of the meal when she walked over to our end of the table because we were taking pictures and stuff I told her that we'd all gotten alcohol and she just made this face. XD She was not happy about it. It really isn't a big deal for me though because in several more months I'll be old enough anyway. Other than the alcohol, there were other weird things about that place. The tablecloth was dirty when we sat down, they hadn't even bothered to clean it off. The food was on tables out in the hall, it was a buffet thing but it was in a hallway so you had to squeeze through to get the food or even just walk by there. not much space at all. They kept running out of plates. The plates they did have were mismatched. I ended up with a clear plate when everyone else had white plates. XD Their cups didn't match either, Jenny's boyfriend was given a weird glass for his champagne that didn't match everyone else's, Jenny was given a different glass for her tea. The food was cold. It's too bad, because the food would have been good if it had been hot. So I only ate a little and ended up mostly eating candy. They had some cakes and no plates by the cakes, guess they ran out yet again so I had to go grab a plate from the regular food table and it was really hot. Nearly burned me and then when I put the cake on it the chocolate icing melted from the hot plate. At least the cake was good. But yeah just a weird place with a weird waitress and mismatched dishes. Nebby called while we were there so I was able to tell her about some of the oddities. It's great stuff for telling Nebby about. XD The kind of thing we love to talk about. After that we all got up, took pictures, and finally went home. When we got home I noticed the flowers my parents had on the floor in the backseat of the car had fallen over and spilled dirt all over the floor. I told my mom and then my dad got all pissy about it and they started yelling at each other. XD And then Jenna called wanting to come over and I ended up telling her about the weird place too and my parents were still yelling and said she couldn't come over. But soon after that they left to go see my grandma, yeah we'd just seen her but they wanted to go spend more time with them I guess and bring her the flowers. So when they left I called Jenna so she came over to use the computer and stuff. I talked to Kaz on the phone before that too because his dad dragged him to work. For like ten minutes to move something. Kind of dumb but at least he didn't have to be there all day. I had a chat and stuff, and then Jenna went home. Worked on homework. Eiyma called for a few minutes, then back to homework again, and the rest of th day has just been pretty boring. Still a more interesting day than most.
