Pond water looks green in pics, but it isn't. Its the green umbrella blocking out the sunlight making it appear to have a tint. It is a little cloudy though, but thats only because I changed so much water at once and caused a bacteria bloom. It needed the change majorly though. Hubby had a red ear slider living in it for a few months and it left a lot of waste in the water.

The bright orange fish is actually a large comet goldfish (the kind you get at the fair). The turtle devoured all the koi, so big goldie was the only survivor. Oddly enough though, goldfish tend to be a little smarter then Koi. When a predator like a raccoon or cat comes, the Goldfish know to swim low. Have heard that koi don't! We have a few new koi now though.


I picked out Pansies. They were cute and pretty and cheap. $2 for a 6 pack at home depot.

About the Kois, my mom had some in her gardenlake.. but some has become a very big dinner for the cats from our neighbour.. the others grow to big kois which are more than 30cm tall...
