I’m barely a float in these murky waters

Trying to stay above the waterline all my life

Now, my energy has depleted

My body is sore from trying to stay a float

But it was all in vain

I’m sinking now

My time is up

Drowning in these murky depths

No one can hear me screaming for help

I’m not even sure I want to be saved

Or maybe I’m desperate for help

But the one I want to save me

To lift me out of these cold waters

Doesn’t know it

And by the time they hear my scream

It will only be an echo

And by the time they find these cold, murky waters

By the time they find me, see me

I’ll no longer be screaming

No longer in need if help

I’ll be floating once again
