My thoughts on the Fishing Phenomena... Having ocassionally blasted some excess gold (December '03 letter cause one to lose perspective sometimes) on fishing, I have come to a few conclusions. These conclusions may be seen most clearly in the results of a little experiment that I ran using a Strength + Rod, 20 cans of A grade bait, 3 wasted hours and the Bass'ken lake community. I actually managed to catch all 360 fish that I snagged, missing not a one. Here are my tallies: 8 Gray Stripers 11 Blue Stripers 37 Brown Bass 32 Green Bass 107 Yellow Guppies 111 Orange Guppies 17 Big Old Tires 19 Old Boots 18 Old Cans Not. One. Rare. bows humbly to VO and crew Brilliant gold sink gentlemen. Hours of entertainment, and I know ways to make it legitimately profitable, but I must say that, having verified this for my eyes I am actually amused by this fact. Rares are just that: Rare.

	also, Strength Rod is teh suxx0r in my opinion. Distance Rod is better at getting rares. but yeah, rares are made to be -rare-! although i just told you to use the Distance Rod, Rares are suppost to be 100% random like pinkboxes and such. it's just rumors i'm going off of.

	Yeah, my basic assessment is that rod-type is immaterial for rares. Rares are supposed to be like Pink Boxes. I went off some of the better info (stickies and such) on that. I have since switched to Distance, if for no other reason than to get more Boldurs and Stones Biters.
