Sol...
Hello! Story time!
Hi! I'm V and I'd like to tell you a story, but unfortunately I'm too lazy to think of one.... so let me see if there is one that I already have around...

Beast Blood
I was running, running, running... The world around me was a blur. I smelt a deer in the clearing to my right. I headed for it. I ran up and pounced….
Then suddenly I was back in my room staring at the white ceiling covered in that annoying popcorn stuff. I slowly turned my head to see my bedside clock. 7:55. I mumbled and started to turn over than looked back at the clock. 7:56. it took my brain a second to register what that meant, “Oh man! I’m late!”
I hopped out of bed and was running out of the door before the clock hit eight. It was Saturday morning and I had to get out to the mall. I pulled into a parking spot with the tires squealing. I jumped out and ran to the big glass double doors that lead into the mall, there was an angry looking brunette standing near the doors. “Kanti! You are always late!”
I walked up to her and said with a sigh “Sorry Lain, I forgot to set my alarm…”
“Well remember next time you idiot!” Lain growled at me, “but I’m glad your finally here, the HL-room isn’t always active you know.”
“Yeah I know…” The HL room was a new game that was getting really popular among teenagers. It put you in a holographic chamber and lets you duke it out with other people in cyber-space.
Anyway, Lain and I walked down through the mall until we got to a large store where a lot of people were gathering. Lain got excited and ran up while she pulled out the two quick-access passes she had won in a contest. I followed her and we were both escorted by a large bald man into a room with a lot of chair looking things in it. The chairs were cushioned and hooked up to a big machine. Over each chair was a clear cover that would lock in place after the person was comfortable seated inside. I was shown to a chair right next to Lain. As I was getting situated lain looked over and said, “Wow Kanti this is so cool!”
I nodded and pressed the button that confirmed I was comfortable. The lid secured down and the inside of the pod went dark. A little screen popped up in front of me that had a place for my name and preferences in weaponry, magic, and the like. The pod was voice controlled so I said “Kanti, Samurai class, single Katana, the Naginata.” (Naginata- a famous katana from Japanese mythology)
The screen filled out and a little voice said, “Hello Kanti, nice to have you playing today! Is there any particular place you want to go today?”
“Yeah, I’d like to end up wherever a player named Lain is; I want to be in a fighting party with her.”
The computerized voice said, “Yes sir! You’re going to the Cherry Blossom Pagoda. Have a good game!” (Pagoda- a type of Japanese building, usually a tower like structure.)
The screen whirred again and a bright light flashed in front of my eyes. Suddenly I was standing in an orchard of cherry blossom trees. There was a giant tower behind me that was done over in the oriental style, though I knew it could be in any style the player wanted. I heard a crunch behind me and I spun and my hand fell to the handle of my sword as I lowered into a fighting stance.
“Whoa Kanti! It’s only me!” a brunette girl exclaimed, she had on a pink ninja style kimono that had a depiction of sunflowers on it. The girl was holding a bow down at her side and had a dagger shoved in the waist band of her kimono.
“Lain? Wow you look weird!” I said cheerfully, “anyway, ready to fight something?”
“Sure!” Lain smiled” I’ll just follow you.”
Just then, I heard a whooshing sound coming from behind Lain, so I stepped forward and caught the Kunai that was about to hit her (Kunai- a special throwing dagger used by ninja)
“We got an enemy on our hands!” I yelled as I drew Naginata from its sheath. I listened closely for the next attack and deflected another kunai that was aimed at my jugular. Lain shot an arrow in the general direction of the ninja.
Suddenly, the ninja burst through the bushes and stabbed Lain through the chest.
“Ugh!!!” Lain exclaimed before disappearing from the game.
I charged the ninja and locked him in close combat. After a few missed strikes and blocked attacks both I and the ninja were getting tired. I felt a small buzz in my shoulder, but decided it was nothing. The ninja saw his chance at my small distraction and caught me in the side with a kunai. I screamed as I felt the blade cut into me and I knew immediately that something was wrong, you weren’t supposed to feel pain in these things. The ninja continued to attack me landing hit after hit and I felt like I was going to be ripped apart. As the barrage continued I felt myself become hot, it felt like my blood was growing hotter and hotter. I screamed as my vision dimmed then turned to a tint of red. I screamed again but this time it sounded more like a roar. I dropped my sword and punched a hole in the ninja’s chest with a strength I didn’t know I had. I looked at the body as it faded then threw my head back and roared a victory roar. The pain melted back into my form and I slipped into unconsciousness.
When I awoke I was laying on my back looking up at a white ceiling, I thought I was back in my room, but then I realized the ground I was laid on was tile and that there was talking around me. I sat up and was instantly assaulted by a huge hug from Lain “Oh my god Kanti, I thought you had died!”
“What… what happened?” I stammered.
“The machine messed up and the fail safes in the system shut down. It was making you feel all the pain from the ninja’s attacks.”
I stood up and walked to the door. “Is everyone else ok?”
“No, Kanti, the entire system shut down, the ninja, he’s dead…”
I looked at her in shock, “what? I killed him?”
“Don’t worry Kanti there’s no way you could have known, your not going to get any charges pressed against you.”
I staggered out of the mall in a daze. I had killed someone… I had ripped his heart in two and killed him… I was a murderer. “Lain you drive” I said then plopped down in the passenger side seat and stared at the dashboard.
“Ok” she said, “They told me to get you to a hospital immediately though, so I’m taking you downtown to the free clinic ok?”
“Fine…”
When we arrived Lain filled out some forms and told the doctors about the situation. The doctor drew some blood and went to go test it for infections; He said it was just a precaution to make sure the machine did mess with me. When the doctor came back he looked a bit worried.
“Well doc, is he ok?” Lain asked.
“Well we ran the blood and we found something strange, it has traces of a different strand of DNA other than human.”
I looked up in shock, “You’re telling me I’m not human?”
“Well you definitely are part human, from what we could tell, you have traces of lion DNA.”
I was totally awed by that statement, and I guess my face showed it because Lain yelled at the doctor, “this is no time for jokes! Is there anything actually wrong with Kanti or not?”
“Don’t worry about it.” I said as a stood up and walked towards the door, “Lets just go…” I wanted to get out of there as fast as I could.
“But wait! I wanted to run some more tests…” The doctor started.
“No, come one Lain lets go.” I said with a tone of finality. I walked out of the doctor’s office with Lain and we went back to my house, she said she was going to crash over at my place.
Once inside, I grabbed a bag of beef jerky, my favorite snack, and went to the telephone. I dialed up my dad’s Miami number and waited till he picked up, “Hello this is the...”
“It’s me dad, lion DNA explain, now.” He could probably tell I was angry because I am very direct when I’m angry.
There was silence on the line for a second then I heard my dad softly speak” Oh my god… I never thought it would show up in you…”
“What wouldn’t?” I growled.
“Our family has a recessive blood disease that causes the DNA in the infected person to mutate into lion DNA.”
“What? Why didn’t you ever tell me about this?!?” I yelled at him.
"Well son like I said it’s a recessive dieses, I’m a carrier but I didn’t think your mom was, there was no chance that you could have gotten it. I guess she was a carrier though.”
I stared at the phone a bit then yelled an obsinity as I slammed the phone down. I sat down with my head in my hands. I was a mutant, a freak of nature and I didn’t know about it till I killed someone.
I grabbed my jacket and walked outside, pushing Lain out of the way. Once outside I just wandered around till I got to the edge of the forest. I suddenly felt my blood to boil and I felt a strange urge to run, so I did.
I was running, the world was a blur. The newly discovered beast blood pumping in my veins. I smelt a deer to my right so I swerved to the right. I saw the deer and pounced on it. An hour later I was sitting under the stars looking up and contemplating my newly discovered beast like qualities. As I thought back I realized that the signs of the beast had been apparent my whole life. Someone walked up behind me. I looked and discovered that was only Lain.
“So you have beast blood huh?” She asked as she sat down next to my blood spattered form.
“Yeah, I do.” I looked over at her, “and I kinda like it.”
She looked at me and said “gotta love genetics huh?”
“Heh yeah, I guess so.” I said as I laid back and stared at the sky with Lain.
I was a beast, my DNA made me one. The thing was, I really didn’t care.
