Oh gosh.. I haven't entered anything in my journal for 3 days.. sweatdrop Oh well, I think I needed to get some more ideas on what to post anyway. Let's see, where to start? I know! I'll talk about my house, yard and a little about where I live!
I live in a fairly new stucco 2 story house with a huge veranda on the front side. Some people say it looks like a mansion from the outside, but it's really not all that big... Hmm.. outside my window I see a mesquite tree just about to get it's new leaves. Behind it is my neighbor's deck that covers most of his back yard (it isn't very aesthetic..). Beside it is a natural wall of limestone that's about 20 feet tall. My backyard is a little small because it's wedged between the limestone and my house. I have no grass in my yard (I miss it although I'm allergic to it) and it's mostly covered by rocks. Right under the mesquite tree is a small path that leads to our raised garden with a bench at the side of it. Right in front of this path there is a white fence that my family built a year ago to keep the dogs from running away (Tooder gets out anyway). We always have tons of house sparrows hopping around in our boisenberry bush and they sometimes get annoying. We have good birds too, though that make up for it.
Ok enough about my boring backyard.. Now I'll tell you about where my house is. I live right next to the Verde river in Arizona. This year it's rained almost 75% of the usual rain we get just in these few months! And guess what? Rain+River=Flooding! It majorly flooded about 4 times in one month a few months ago, and the water got up to about 20 feet above normal. It didn't reach our house any of those times, but some of our friends' houses were flooded. Well, I gotta go so I'll stop all this boring stuff now. sweatdrop
