Cow Days
I have nothing really to do today, except for chores, so I thought I might as well use this oppurtunity to write something in my journal. Today's topic is labeled "Cow Days" simply for the fact that I was thinking this morning about my cow, Annabelle.

Her harness came partway off, so I had to struggle with her for a minute so that she would stay stil so I could get it back on the way it's supposed to be. I wondered then whether all cows were stubborn and simple minded or if it was simply Annabelle because as I released her to go back to eating, I noticed that part of her harness was on the wrong side of her ear, but she would not let me fix it as she was too intent on eating. I decided right then that though by little one is cute and wonderful, she's also the most simple minded creature I have ever met.

As I started walking back to the house, I started reminiscing about how Annabelle was just a year ago when we first got her (well, almost a year. We got her on April 1st). First of all, she's grown...a lot. At six days old, she was about 3 feet tall, about to my waist, and now she's at least 4.5 feet, at the middle of my chest. She's also come from being a scared little calf to a self-assured full grown heifer. Makes me appreciate when parents comment about how fast I've grown up.

Now I'm thinking about Annabelle's 1st birthday, which is rapidly approaching, March 24th! Ans I'm not sure what to get her. I know that some of you are probably thinking something along the lines of "who would get a present for a cow?" Your answer is that I would. Now, getting back on topic... One of my dad's friends gave us a cow bell when she first found out we had a cow, and I'm thinking of attaching it to her on her birthday. That, and I might give her all her favorite grain that day. (we give her two types of grain, but one of them is her favorite... the sweeter kind, if you can believe that cows have a sweet tooth.)

So, I really have no clue what I'll ACTUALLY do, but if anyone reads this entry and has an idea, I'd be very happy to hear it!

Sadly, I'm not at all surprised you can spend an entire journal talking about your cow....*shakes head in denial*

While cows are adorably cute, I couldn't ramble on about them. Sorry. I suppose I'm just not cool like that.

Annabelle is rather stubborn...has she really grown that much? Wow...but then again, I rarely get to see her, so I can't be a good judge.

Happy Belated Birthday to Annabelle, as it's the 26th. What did you get her? Anything nice? *laughs* I just suddenly thought about something your dad might have 'given' her for her birthday...can't you imagine him presenting her with a bottle of barbecue sauce? And sadly, I think only you and I would understand that.

Loved the quote, even though you are completely stealing them from me. I is sad.
