I walked down the slow sidewalk. Everything had been going wrong for me the past few days. I blew the hair out of my face. I made sure her little coat was wrapped tightly around my body. I shivered, it was always so cold in New York. At least that's what I thought. I sighed and then went to my house. My job at the news wasn't at all easy. Always writing always. I was doing an articale about the recent disappearnces and bodies found drained of blood. I knew I was getting in deep. I'd actually saw the killer, or killers, once. They'd been where I had heard a scream. Walking home from work, like always. I'd had her camrea, but it came out as a dark blur. The title of the article was, 'Vampires in New York?' I knew it was cheesy, and I was frightened for my life. I moved away from the little desk. I lifted my hands to my face, and sat on the couch a minute. Then the phone rang, I almost fell off the seat. I picked it up. "Hello?" I inquired. No one said anything. "Hello? Is anyone there?" I said uneasily. Yes, I was getting in this story to deep. There was a bang at her door. I screamed, then Jess came in with a loud, "BOO!" she was holding her cell phone.
"You whore!" I screamed and she play tackled her.
Jess was laughing her head off.
"It was a good joke, admit it," Jess managed to sputter out in between bursts of laughter. I got off her and rolled my eyes. "Okay, yeah, it was good. We'll have to do that one on Miranda. You know she's helping me, and is just as scared as I am," I said laughing.
Then Miranda came on laughing. "BOO! I was in on it too." she snickered.
"Damn, oh well," I was having fun. I'd been busy lately, and forgot tonight was girls' night out. "So where are we going?" I asked inquistively.
"Um, there's a new restraunt down the street. We could try there," Jess said it matter-of-factly. We had more, sophistacted nights. Not many times had we gone to a bar. It was mostly to a park, to play on the slides and swings. We'd never really grown up.
"Then off to the park, like always," this was Miranda.
"Sure," I said equally happy as the rest.
That happiness wasn't going to last the night. The killers would catch up with us. They'd do something worse than death to us...
