Razorblade
It's sitting there looking at me,
calling to me
I try to look away, but the glint of it's razor sharp edge draws me closer
I feel tempted
but I know that it would be worthless to do it
yet I'm still drawn to it
The thought of blood pouring out of my skin
makes me feel at ease
I lightly touch the blade,
reflecting on my life
In that single bar of light shining off that blade,
I can see my whole life,
Every little detail
In that tiny fleck of light,
Everything I have ever known flashes,
torments me
It's madness to look at the blade,
but I can't stop myself as I pick it up in my hand
I turn it every which way, watching the light in it's reflection,
wondering... what if things were different?
I glance down at my arm,
wondering if it could take away the pain and sorrow that leadens my heart,
that makes me feel as if I am worthless,
as if no one cares...
My mind is thinking a mile a minute,
my actions moving at a sluggish pace
I'm afraid of what I might do,
yet I still hold that razor in my hands,
unable to look away
