You take one step forward; I follow.
I take one step back; you follow.
I take another, but this time,
You don't follow.
I take my leave;
Neither of us say goodbye.
It is a dance we do from time to time.
Somehow returning,
And repeating again and again.
The results have yet to change.
Everytime one takes a separate path.
The sun still shines on our sorrowful dance,
Not once has the rain come.
Never has the rain come to change our steps,
Never has it brought devistation
Or the mirth that left our eyes.
Blank expressions replace our smiles.
Joy, where did it go?
It could not have simply vanished.
Our dances seem shorter;
The dance never changes,
But we do.
What will we do when we tire of this dance?
Will the steps change?
Or will we simply leave at the fork in the road,
Never to meet again?
Perhaps we are too old for such trival games,
Games ment for children and not ourselves.
Such basic steps in this dance.
Amusing and aggravating all the while.
Can more steps be added and learned?
Or will we repeat again?
Living this boring cycle
No changes...just repetition.
