It had been almost a whole week since the team’s encounter with Zabuza. The morning was normal enough for the girls when they took Tazuna to the bridge, until Ann ran off without warning. She was careful of being followed, but she made a beeline to Zabuza's safehouse.
Haku~I sense someone…
Zabuza~It's only Ann. Stay here.
He left the room and soon came back carrying Ann. She was crying.
Zabuza~What's wrong?
Ann~It'll end tomorrow…people will die…I can't stop feeling death…make it stop…
She started shaking so he pulled her closer to his chest.
Zabuza~Do you know who will?
Ann~No…it's just…there…like a block of ice in m-my stomach.
He quietly sighed and pulled out the locket from his shirt.
Zabuza~I can't stop that feeling. Whatever happens tomorrow, this will help explain to your team who you are finally. Do you still have that photo of the three of us?
Ann nodded.
Zabuza~That will help explain what we are to you. I know you want to come clean to them.
Ann nodded again and tried to calm down.
Haku~How long have you had this feeling?
Ann~Since last night…It got stronger w-when I got near the bridge…I-I ended up running off…
Haku~Won't they look for you?
Ann~As long as K-Kakashi isn't told…
Zabuza~Get some rest. I'll wake you later.
Ann~Please don't leave me…Zabi…Don't…
Zabuza~I won't…Just rest. I'll wake you later
She wiped her eyes and held onto him tighter. Eventually, she fell asleep and stopped crying.
Haku~Is it manifesting?
Zabuza~It looks like it. I hope I can at least tell her before she finishes the mission.
Haku~You don't think that we'll die, do you?
Zabuza~I think it's more likely than living with her at the Leaf
Haku~Will you be careful tomorrow?
Zabuza~Yeah…I don't want to leave her alone…Not again…

Later that evening, Zabuza woke her.
Zabuza~It's almost dinner. You've been away from your team all day.
Ann~I can't move…
Zabuza wiped her face and picked her up
Zabuza~Tell me how to get there. I'll drop you off on the roof. She must be still resisting her kekkei genkai. I'm sorry I can't explain it yet. It still isn't the right time.
Ann~Thank you, Zabi…please, be careful.
Zabuza~I'll be back, Haku. Don't wait up.
Haku~Be safe.

Zabuza~Are you doing any better?
Ann~A bit…still heavy…
She was able to wipe her eyes. They soon got to the bridge builder's roof. He set her down and kissed her head
Zabuza~I love you, Ann
She pulled him into a hug.
Ann~I love you too…be careful tomorrow.
Zabuza~You too, brat.
He kissed her head once more and jumped off.

Just a few moments earlier, Tazuna and the girls were just arriving and came inside the house.
Kakashi~Where's Ann?
Ravi~We don't know. Something happened with her. She ran off without saying anything.
Sakura~It was right when we got to the bridge. We got worried, but nothing was wrong.
Kakashi~Did she ever come back?
Tazuna~No, I half expected her to be here.
Kakashi sat up straight.
Sakura~Sensei?
He ran out and saw a figure jump off from the roof.
Kakashi~Girls check the rooms. Someone was here.
The girls went inside and started up the stairs while Kakashi hopped onto the roof. He found Ann sitting and wiping her eyes
Kakashi~What happened? Do you know who just left?
Ann~It was nothing…I’m sorry I scared you.
He sat next to her.
Kakashi~What's wrong?
She hesitated from speaking, then sighed.
Ann~Just…S-since last night…I couldn't shake off this feeling of death…many people will die…
Kakashi~Do you know who?
Ann~No…I can't tell from what side either…
Kakashi~Okay…Are you coming to dinner?
Ann~I…later…I'll come in later…
Kakashi nodded. He patted her head and began to walk off. Ann grabbed his wrist
Ann~No matter what happens tomorrow, please don't hate me.
Kakashi~I could never hate you Ann. I really appreciate that you told me they'll be there tomorrow.
Ann~I just don't want anyone hurt…
Kakashi~And you still believe by not telling me no one will?
Ann~I believe not as many will…
She let go of him and brought her knees to her chest.
Kakashi~Would you like me to get you later?
Ann~It's ok. But you should get to Sakura and Ravi

Back inside, Kakashi found the girls sitting at the table.
Ravi~Nothing was wrong in the rooms
Sakura~Nothing was touched either
Kakashi~It ended up being Ann. She's on the roof
Tazuna~Did you figure out what was wrong?
Kakashi~All she said was that she felt bad omens. We'll be fine tomorrow. No matter what happens.

Later that night, Kakashi met with the team in the boys’ shared room after making sure Ann was resting in her shared room with the girls.
Ravi~What did Ann tell you?
Kakashi~They'll be at the bridge tomorrow. Prepare tonight.
Sakura~And the omen?
Kakashi~She kept feeling death.
Naruto~Do you believe someone will die?
Kakashi~Zabuza is a missing nin. If I don't kill him, almost nothing will stop him from killing Tazuna
Sasuke~What if you let Ann take care of the situation? I'm pretty sure you can feel his chakra on her.
Sakura~I know chakra can leave a residue, but it seems really strong on her.
Naruto~Under what circumstances can it do that?
Kakashi~There’s a couple reasons. It just depends on their relationship.
Naruto~Relationship? You mean like dating???
Ravi~Don't be ridiculous. Ann wouldn’t date him. That’s just…gross…
Sasuke~Figures Ann would have told you already
Naruto~Ravi knows Ann's secret?!
Kakashi~Yeah and Ann will come clean tomorrow. Everyone, get some rest. Big day tomorrow
