I think this is one of my favoritest songs ever. I have friends who claim the English version is the spawn of virgin-rape by Satan himself, and even my mother says the German version is better, but the singer's voice plays a big part in my opinion of a song, and I cannot stand Nina Hagen's voice. Yes, I'd like the German version better, if the Goldfinger dude were singing it. As it is, I really don't like the German version all that much.
