I walked down the long winding road
Looking to the darkness for comfort
Knowing no one was there
I whispered away my life
Into the deep abyss I call a heart
I wallow in my sadness

All I wanted was a chance yet I am still denied
To this day I wonder what could have been
What never was
Who it is that never knew my smile
What mistakes I have made

Here I long for death
My destruction is imminent
I pray for a way back
But never see the way lit with the radiant light
The light of the heart I once knew
Thus I stay in the abyss of my heart

The blood runs through my veins slowly never stopping
Except to run down my torn body and broken mind
Yet my abyss my heart stays and I am the only one
