Holding Close my bottomless mirror,
Only that same reflection, I search Deeper,
Theres something more, something greater,
Something better than my pale reflection in that mirror,
A chance to be, A reason to aspire, Something lovely to the eye,
The deeper I go, the more I lose sight of what I'm looking for,
Where is the great self, this enchanting figure I want to see, staring back at me with everything I need,
I hit the bottom, the illusion has ended, I've lost sight of my reflection, and who I really am, searching for something I'm not, searching for something I think I need, I felt I could love me more, feel more, be more,
This vision of how I want myself, There is nothing there but my reflection,
Everything I am and can be, Everything I should pride myself in but don't, all the things I take for granted, every day, holding onto these false ideas, The bottomless mirror can be as complex as you want it to be, always trying to feed into that hole in yourself, or it can be as simple as realizing that everything you really want, is staring back at you.
