The many rants of a work in progress
Rant: The rules...are RIDICULOUS.
Ever notice how, on those great games you love to play, that there are those inevitible Game Rules that add on hours of gameplay at a time? Such as in the Golden Sun game, the main character, Isaac, can lift and move huge boulders with his mind, yet he isn't allowed to step over those tiny pebbles. Also, in many games, there's the notion of how "Cracked walls can be broken." These cracked walls can be mere moments old, and you can blast through them like a hot knife through butter...but those 5000 year-old sections with the odd cracks and indentations? The ones that have seen days of strife and war, and have rebuilt, poorly, hundreds of times over? Nope, they're solid.

Games are getting more and more physical and lifelike, yet they still keep these unwritten rules! I say, if you can set bystandards aflame in Grand Theft Auto, you should be able to torch the stupid fast-food joint! But no...the developers want you to go through a cave, spend at least an hour fighting odder-than-odd creatures, solving puzzles, and getting lost, just to reach a chest...when your Wind Mage, who can summon up gales, could have blown down the ladder leading to it, no problem. Your character can run up mountainsides, but your helicopter can't take off because a twig's in the way of it's propeller?

Ahh, cheat codes...they're the remedy. It's a shame you lose respect with your friends every time you use 'em. So, to keep our social life together, we must suffer through these meaningless areas of torment. Nice, huh?
