I stood there thinking as the lights filled the room. As if the light had sparked a memory, it came to me, I knew why he seemed so familiar. "Howell? As in Howl?" I said alloud, not even to Howell, just as a random thought that had passed into my mind. "You are smart. You figured it out. So where is it my name came from to spark this idea?" He said as he made and slow circle around me, watching my eyes as I thought. "Howl's moving castle. A book I read as a little kid." I murmered, think he might take my relating him to a story as an insult. "So a story was it." He sighed. "Yes, a book. But that can't be you." I shook my head as if to shake the notion out. "And why can't it?" He said as he stopped circling. "It was just a fantasy novel. It wasn't true." I replied. "But you tampered with the story, didn't you?" Howell said in a soft voice as he stared into my eyes. "No, when I read it, I fell asleep after I finished. I never even had time to put the book away, I left it on my pillow." I tried to make sense of things, but my head began to ache with the strain of the day. "You cried in your sleep?" Howell asked boldly. "I might have. I do that from time to time. Why?" I said, still not understanding what was going on. "You brought me here. You took what you saw in that story, in that character, and you made me. Howell. Now why? What is it that caused you to cry that night?" Howell asked. "I don't remember." I said softly. "Or do you?" Howel sighed as he turned away. I stood in silence as I pondered why he was here. Did I even believe that I had brought him about? "How is it that I created you?" I asked. "Some sort of enchantment I am guessing. Why?" "Enchantment means magic, and I have no magic." This must just be a scheme, he's probably some oddball! "You have no magic?" Howell laughed. "What a lie!" "I'm not lying." I answered calmly, trying to let him know I was serious.
